They just got DONE doing a maintenance upgrade.... and I am now sitting... unable to get into a map because, yet again, the server is not responding.
What is WRONG with these people?
Oh. Wait. I take it back. NOW I have the famous 'Disconnected from Server' message.
Oh, good. THIS is definitely worth $60 plus $14.99 a month. and please.. spare me the old lame 'it's to be expected. it's an MMO' excuse. What I *expect* is that when I buy a product for $60 it will be a *working* product.
There is no doubt this game was not ready to go live. I would say we are doing a pay to play beta. Server issues, tons of bugs, no real end game yet, and so on. I don't blame the dev team though. Most of the time when games go live to soon it is the ppl incharge of the money who make that happen.

Period.
If you expect a fully polished game when you buy it, don't buy MMO's until months after release. Sorry your expectations were unrealistic
This game is less than 30 days post launch, hiccups like this are expected. EQ, EQ2, SWG, LOTRO, WoW, Aion, and any other mmo I have played in the last 15 years has had some problems in the first 30 days.
A couple hour downtime is nothing compared to some other MMO's
The problem alot of people have is WoW syndrome...guess what, wow is how many years post launch now? When WoW went live they were having server outages for DAYS, not hours...remember that.
Yea its annoying to not be able to play...do what most mature people do..walk away, go clean the house some, spend some time with ur GF/BF etc...and come back.
O.K. I can live with the game being like this for months. I have always jumped into a well developed MMO (EQII, LOTRO, WOW), and experienced a game that was seamless..great. I love this game just wanted someone who has gone through the cradle to grave; launch and onward on games similar to what I previously mentioned to chime in and tell me it is going to be OK.
Dont you all know it is sunday today? They have a very small partime crew at Cryptic who just all went to the Mall wich is opening at any time, once there they will run to the foodcourt stuff themselves with the biggest burgers they can get and read all our moaning on their labtops.
And actually when it bores them to much they just hit the button <close Thread> :P

A hint, is to pick MMOs based on if you like their graphics, gameplay, and main themes. If you do, wait for the game to get better.

What a pitiful thing it is when after paying $60 for an item and the $14.99 on top of that to USE the item expecting it to work as advertised constitutes 'unrealistic expectations'.

You haven't been able to log in at all? Your computer might have some issues. If you mean a 3? hour downtime in 24 hours......
AOC was a ~ launch. Dont remember much downtime, but the bugs were numerous. However they got most things fixed within the first month.
Of course, then came the kneejerk nerfs that decimated most classes. Little bit later, the one zone for 70-80 being camped by 30 people got people even more fed up.
It is expected by people who are used to this yes.
MMO's are never sold as a game which will have teething problems, they are sold as a tested game. So while people saying it is to be expected are right, people who feel they have been sold something not up to the standard it should be are also right. This is not a you're wrong I'm right debate. Accept other peoples thoughts without condemning them if it is different to your own

Unfortunately, with every MMO launch we have people that kick and scream that they did not get what they wanted....even through if they did a little bit of research they would realize that 90% of MMOs have pathetic launches. Most people that flame them have been through enough MMOs that they are tiard of the "I DIDNT GET WHAT I EXPECTED, I COULDNT PLAY FOR 3 HOURS OUT OF THE DAY, THIS GAME SUCKS" attituide.

What's wrong with Cryptic you say? More what's wrong with you. You whine and cry and expect a nice smooth finished product with all the bells and whistles right out of the gate. Get real. Most MMO's I have played have been allot worst then this. How about showing that you have common sense and the Cryptic time to fix issues that will pop up with the more peeps that play this game. Better yet do us all a favor and unsusribe, and save us all the hassle of hearing you complain.

And so you should let them have their say. Let them vent their frustration, You may be used to it and it doesn't bother you but why flame others? The fact that you are used to it does not make it right. It does not make the other person wrong, or indeed render them 'flameable'.
There will be allot of veteran MMO players thinking here we go again still no better. There will also be some noting that there are always people who love to flame for acting in a normal dissatisfied customer manner.
If the message any MMO co gets is the one you are giving, God help future MMO's

Um. That does not work with the younger instant gratification crowd that have flooded the MMO market.
its not the not responding message... it says not allowed!
here i sit, fresh coffee, sweets, communicator on (kidding), 2 hours to kill and no one to bother me..... and i can't get in!!!
GRRRRRRR :mad::mad::mad:
This is also my feelings. Oh well it is to be expected. Ya know I think that they way underestimated the popularity of this game, and we as a collective, are killing the one server setup they use.
