Finally get to 41 and get my carrier....and find out it sucks !

Have 1 less weapons as my last ship and it takes more weapon power to run ? Like 2 times as much. Come on now thats TRIBBLE.

It should have another weapons spot ateast if your gonna make it use so much power, or shouldnt use so much power if your not gonna had more weapons slots.

    Carriers Can launch Hordes of Fighter ships and 2 BoP if i'm not mistaken, aswell as repair drones and Power Siphons. The Weapons onboard are useless when you have 30+ fledglings killing for you.

    Are you even science ship ? have you even tried using a carrier ? I think you have no idea..........

    Yes you can launch all the described above, but only because of a bug/exploit/stupid mechanic...normally you should be able to launch any 2 of the following

    - 1 BoP
    - 4 fighter
    - 4 rep drones
    - 4 siphons

    as it stands at the moment you can launch 2 of everything...nevertheless the carrier is not really interesting to fly.

    You have a turn rate of 4 !!!! Half of the fed cruisers, so you basically fly in a straight line all the times and you only have 6 weapon points which more or less HAVE to be fitted with turrets (read turn rate 4 !!!!) so you fly in the battle, stand still and autofire away while handling you BO skills mainly

    not really a complaint, but due to the described above I can see why people say its "sucks"

    compare it to a battleship with 8 beam arrays which wtfpwn everything in range :P

    Whereas a carrier in the real world, all the guns are turrets, it turns like a cow, and the "pets" do all work. Wait, this sounds familiar....

    yeah but when the pets do 20 dmg on a enemy with 35k hull....well I guess you get the picture

    hmm well i get .5 more turn in my assult cruiser that has a 4.5 turn and yes i get 8 weapons but i dont get to launch all that extra stuff and im sure if you added all there damage up it would probobly equal that of 2 more phasers so stop complaining

    you didnt read what i wrote at all did you? itt is true that all that stuff is launchable at the moment, but its due to a bug in the mechanic (read: not intended) so there must be a HUUUGE buff to the fighter pets to compensate for the lack of 2 weapon slots AND the mandatory use of turrets

    U are mistaken they CANNOT launch all of these at the same time only can pick 2 , limiting it ALOT, to the point where it doesnt really feel like a carrier at all. You, however, make it sound like it can launch all of STAR WARS at another player here... plz exaggeration is fine but use it wisely.

    The ship sucks, the " pets " suppose to intercept targets and it doesn't, well the fighters do, but 2-3 damage dont really count . I think everyone should be forced to use a carrier just so when they post something like you, they really , I mean really understand what they are talking about. Instead of talking out their asses.

    Im a science officer and I find using engineering ships better, everyone complains about VM, and how op it is. VM is a wast, it works on 1 target , and I gotten into 1 on 1 fights and get vm all the time, and recover very easy to kill the enemy.


    My conclusion is Carriers suck, and if VM is a science officers best skill, then science officers are in trouble, because what you gonna do when there is more than 1 enemy ?

    I've been playing this game since before Closed Beta, I know how they work. If you're going to use personal insults when you can't support your argument with facts, at least try to get THOSE facts straight.

    actually u can launch star wars up on that **** , sit on your ship, and launch the bop, then remove from the slot and put in another and launch and continue to do that, not something you can do during a fight, but something u can do before or after a fight. I have not yet tried the carrier in pvp because Im afraid to, the thing probably gonna cause me to reroll.

    Knowing how something works, is not like " actually working it ", I know how engineer ship works, I know how tactical ship works , Hell I know the grass is green .... is not just the same, and I wasnt insulting you. i was simply saying, everyone should be restricted to using carriers so they really, I mean really have an understanding instead of talking out their TRIBBLE . Meaning talking from the " knowing aspect " instead of the ' doing aspect"

    Well yeah, you don't see the Nimitz pulling 90 degree turns in the Pacific anyhow. Carriers should be escorted by other ships.

    yeah I benched my General 5 (science char) aswell, only doing the daily pvp thing...good thing that leveling in this game is done really fast, so its no big deal getting an admiral aswell...

    thats true of course and I dont want the carrier to be flown as a escort, what I was trying to point out is that due to the nearly non existant turn rate one is forced to use turrets

    and about beeing escorted, yeah of course it makes sense that the carrier makes use of the launchable ships, BUT at the moment its like the people on the escorts ships of said Nimitz would be shooting on the opposing ships with pistols :)

    The glitch where you can swap out carrier support craft to launch far beyond what you should is common knowledge, don't pretend it isn't done. Virtually every carrier I've come across does it.

    maybe if they did have slots for all the carrier may not suck so much lol and aoe heals for the lil guys lol
