Really now, has anybody NOT had major problems yet?

Seriously, I haven't had a single login without a new major issue.

Be it controls, binds, visuals, or even the damn LOGIN MENU.

I understand that the game is new, and it's only natural to have some bugs, but really now, I bought this game in a store, in a nice pretty box, and it still feels like a downloaded beta testing unfinished TRIBBLE with patches every couple of days.

If you weren't ready, you should have pushed the release date back.

On the flipside, when everything DOES work out, I've never had so much fun playing an MMO as I have piloting a ship in STO.

The thing is, one person's "major problem" is another person's minor inconvenience.

I haven't encountered anything I would have called game breaking or major. Have I encountered problems? Sure. And I bug them, or open a ticket, and move on. Just like any other MMO I've played.

Honestly I haven't had any OMGWTF problems once beta closed.

Wait, I take it back, the manual sucks so much I wanted to punch a tribble. The community is working on fixing that though it seems.

No not really... The only problem Chat keeps running into is that horrid tip popup you get every single *censor* time you visit SB1.
It makes this girl scream like a man.

There are bugs of course but nothing that stops the game from being fun for Chat.
Except those horrid popups in SB1... DIE *censor* DIE!

Major problem to me just spells "server down", otherwise I have had nothing to complain about really. The launch has been more succesful than alot of other MMO's previously have. And sometimes problems don't show untill you really stress the servers, which usually happens at launch.

The only other inconvenience to myself and many others is the goldspam issue, which cannot be blamed on Cryptic and has to be battled by both players by reporting the spammers and Cryptic by banning the right accounts, which usually takes manual verfication I guess and thus means alot of work. I'm sure some sort of implemented spam-filter would be welcomed too at some point, but such things take some time to develop.

other than server down time which I expect in a new mmo, not really many. i got punted off the server like 4 times since launch which actually is damn good. last major issue i had was before OB closed when my ship would beam down to the planet or my captain would beam out into space and fall down to the bottom of the sector map. Glad thats all fixed..

not a hint of a problem - 'cept for server offline for maintenance.

my login screen even complains about my 'older' nvidia drivers - but i keep the version i have for another application.

really now, yes, I have not had even minor problems, let alone major ones.

issues/opinion of the gameplay itself aside, i've had a flawless run here in australia.

My major problem at the moment, is I can't rebind anything to any actionbars.

I've tried restarting, and even reinstalling, and each time I move my abilities around, they simply don't work at all.

It's just fine if I leave them as-is for any equipment, but I don't like using my PINKY to fire a phaser. (I'm looking at YOU default fire 1)

The only problem I've ever had with this game is not getting a quest reward, but because I was going to sell it anyways I didn't care much. It's been really smooth besides that.

I am Captain now and the only issue i had was a quest i was unable to complete because i started it just before a serverdown and tried to finish it afterwards. Otherwise i have had no issues yet.

OH, and it's great when a QUEST SPECIFIC ENEMY THAT YOU ARE REQUIRED TO KILL is glitched inside an asteroid, which he can shoot out of, but you can't shoot into.

Warping in and out does nothing, and you're forced to simply wait and try again and again until it finally restarts itself.

I'm sure ships spawning inside asteroids aren't an issue of clicking.

No major problems here. Only problem I ever have is when I warp into Sol and get stuck on the loading screen. Easily fixed by just restarting and prolly only happens because of the gazillion people that are always there. So doesn't really bother me. Other than that I haven't even come across anything that I would even call a bug. :D

My problem is with my toolbars not staying as I set them and random powers showing up in blank spots, other than that I think I crashed once near the end of open beta. All in all pretty smooth sailing thankfully.

well once or twice the game didn't load or there was an unexpected downtime I see nothing major in that at all O.o and also.. doesn't look a big deal from what I seen so far, I've been able to play flawlessly without any problem I've even visited risa to watch the bikini dancers...

Only things that bother me are having to set up my skill bar EVERY time I beam to a planet. Another one is enemy ships getting stuck in asteroids. Then another is warping into an enemy contact signal only to spawn right in the middle of every enemy ship on the map.
Not a big deal. I can still play the game. Compared to other mmos I played when they came out this one is smooth here.

Only problem I had was a tribble invasion.

I let the little mongrels multiply. When 2 of them appeared in my gear list I cleaned house and just kept one (The Ships Tribble in place of Ships Cat, Snowy).

Keep one you're okay, 3+ you have a problem

You don't find spawning in the middle of massive numbers of enemies a major problem???

Imagine playing WoW, you're Horde and just starting a round of WSG, and you spawn in the Alliance base...

Not really. Either switch instances, do something else, or just let them kill you and click the "respawn" button about 3 seconds before the reset timer expires. When it resets, the NPC spawn campers disappear. At least that's not a "major" problem to me, as there are multiple things to do to get around it.

so far, the only problems i've faced are phasing through objects
(happens with scenery in all mmos)
    rubber banding
(not really that big a deal, is it?)
and my computer shutting down automatically to keep the graphics card from overheating and lighting my computer on fire (like that one guy who tried to play this on a 20 year old computer with windows freaken 98)
but that last one is hardly a problem at all, because as soon as i log back on, it puts me back in my mission right where i left off.

But if you're having problems, you should consider getting a major computer overhaul. Me? All i had to do was use my "D" drive

Quite the contrary in my opinion.

If you need to do things to "get around" something that should be basic gameplay, that's a major flaw, and tells me this game wasn't ready for release.

Sure you can get around it, but that doesn't make it any less of a flaw, it just makes the game PLAYABLE.

My specs are fine, well above the recommended. Whatever problems I have aren't due to my systems capabilities.

I haven't had any major gamebreaking issues since launch. Sure the rubberbanding sucked and the servers being offline was a mild annoyance. But the game itself ran pretty smooth. As for problems with the UI etc, I saw a few bugs with it. But again, nothing "gamebreaking". I just worked around them.

One can argue over semantics as to what constitutes a "flaw" or "bug" or whatever, but in the end that is a completely pointless discussion.

Aside from concerns regarding a lack of content (which is a different discussion entirely) nothing in the game so far has caused me to consider stop playing. Yes its a bit shallow in gameplay. But its not a big "problem" (in so far as the OP's definition) yet. I'll guess we'll have to see what the next month brings.

I would describe you as bitter but that would be an injustice to bitter people. Please make sure your whole head is in front of the shotgun when you pull the trigger. If you decide to slash your wrist please be sure to visit your local butcher and have him sharpen the blade for you. You should seek therapy or at the very least try smiling...its easy...try it you will be amazed at the results.

@ those having techinical issues: You are in the wrong section. Perhaps if you asked in the Techinical Support forums you may get some help with any issues you may be having.

@ those who are having fun with this game despite its faults: Congratulations and I will see you in game.

My main mjor issue is that during combat I keep hitting that stupid flag button rather than the alt button and it keeps switching off the game for some reason. The worst bit is the game still continues and if you click star trek on the bottom bar it goes completely blank. What is that buttton for anyway?
