Why are all the space weapons at different tiers and different amount of skill points when from everything i know there are 100% equal except the special which be balanced out for different play types?

    huh?

    I guess you're talking about ground weapons. Their dps does go up depending on the tier.

    No they dont both dual disruptors and dual antiproton with identical specs being two tier apart have a identical base DPS. This goes for all space weapons only the special and amount of skill points to invest changes.

    It's their effect that is different, Disruptors and Phasers may have the same DPs, but for damage sake, disruptors are better. Antiproton cut through shields as if they weren't there sometimes, so that's their little advantage.

    I understand that they have different advantages, but the question is, is anyone superior to another from what i understand its really a matter of preference and play style, if that's not the case then this thread is moot but if it is true then why are u forced to take disruptors or tetryons before antiprotons or polaron, they should all be available at the same time if they are equal which appears to be the case. Not only should they be offered at the same tier they should be the same amount of skill points.

    On paper, I see Antiproton and Disruptors being the best, followed by Phasers.

    I think it's preference mainly though. I suppose you gain ranks for more choice in weaponary, to give a little something extra to higher ranks, and something more to aim for.

    And how is that a problem? I am glad your specialization is what defines which weapons are good for you, not the fact that "weapon type x does more damage than everything else", und thus all weapons of the same level (e.g. MK X) and type (e.g. Beam Array) have the same base dps.
