Batteries: Anyone use anything besides shield?

Given the massive 5-minute shared cooldown, it doesn't make sense to use one of the other kind for convenience when you might need the shield battery 30 seconds later.

I can see why weapon or aux battery might occasionally come in handy in PvP, when you run into someone while full impulsing... but even then it would probably make more sense to save your cooldown for the shield battery.

I use weapon battery more than any other. Very rarely use shield, but will when emergency calls for it. Weapon i tend to use a lot when my weapon level i low, such as coming out of impulse. Engine and aux i never even equip, though there are times i wsh i had a slot for them. (escort)

theres a hard cap of 125 power in any one system, so if you have more than 50 power in that system your going to lose some of the batteries effectiveness.

I pretty much only use engine batteries, typically with evasive maneuvers, and only if I'm actually trying to win a DSE.

Auxilary Batteries are Nice for getting off a quick Science Buff without changing your settings.

Weapon Batteries are handy for peek performance with beam weaponry at times. It stacked with EPS, Overload, and Direct Shield Bypass, really packs a punch.

I used an auxiliary battery once just for grins. Haven't seen any need for em except to sell for a bit of money.

Why on earth would you use a shield one?

I have my shields at lowest possible setting and never run into trouble. If they start to go down ill just press a skill or two.

Works pretty good, im Admiral now.

I don't use those slots at all. Just another pointless game feature I haven't felt the desire to use.

I tend to use the shield batteries when I'm in my fed escort. It lets me plow into the big group of bad guys and not have to worry too much.

With my Klingon character though I found the engine battery to be useful for getting out of weapons distance. Then I can cloak, return and blast away. Particulary useful if you spawn in the wrong place in the Borg War Zone and you have seconds to get away before a mass of Fed players decide to blow you out of the sky.
