I placed 2 torpedo launchers on the aft of my ship...doesn't seem to fire more.

I have a galaxy class exploration vessel. I fire most of my torps from the rear, yet when I placed 2 photon torpedo launcher mk VIII on the aft I only get 2 shots. I use to get 2 with a single launcher. I thought I'd get 4 shots. I have 3 phasers and 1 torp in front, and 1 phaser and 2 torps in back. Suggestions please.

If you're getting two shots from one launcher using High Yield Torpedo 1 (the only way for that to happen, other than the occasional graphical glitch), then it won't affect two torpedo launchers at they same time. HYT is a buff that affects your next torpedo attack and, unlike beams, torpedo launchers cannot fire simultaneously. The first one fires and starts its (usually 6-8 second) cooldown and starts a (usually 3-4 second) cooldown on all other torpedo launchers. So, you can fire more frequently with multiple launchers, but you cannot fire more torpedoes simultaneously.

K thanks. This means I'll have to stay on target a little longer.

I had the same problem...I shot just as many torpedoes with one launcher as I did with two. I started this game using only torpedoes and no beam weapons. Then I switched to one torpedo in the front with one phaser and the same for the back - still the same number of torpedoes get launched. If you watch the cool down after you fire the weapon, in my case, each single torpedo launched made both torpedo launchers go through a cool down. If I switched to one quantum and one photon torpedo one OR the other would fire, then it would cool down again and the photon would fire, since its cool down was less than the quantum.

The global cooldown that's triggered on all torpedoes is shorter than the individual cooldown on the torpedo that you fired. I explained this pretty thoroughly above, but I'll simplify it with a real example.

I use two Quantum torpedo launchers - one front, and one rear. When I fire the front one, it starts an 8 second cooldown on itself, and a 4 second cooldown on the rear one. If I turn around and fire the rear one after its 4 second cooldown is up, it won't add to the cooldown of the fore launcher, since it's already on a cooldown. Thus, I can fire a Quantum torpedo once every 4 seconds because of the way cooldowns interact.

It's understandable that it works this way, but at the same time, it's ridiculous, because they have a "Fire All Torpedos" button and they tell you to Ctrl+Space in the Tutorial to fire all torpedos.

This is different entirely. Go give it a try, with two torpedo launchers mounted in front and in rear and see how many torpedoes you get.

Why doesn't fire all torpedoes, do as it says ?

That is an issue that Cryptic really needs to answer for.

Whilst the cool off is shorter, I see that as the reason so many federation ships contain rear mine launchers.. different cool off.

I think it's by design otherwise you could get a ship torpedo spamming and that somehow might be considered over powered... especially with a friend doing nothing but beams to strip shields. Honestly I don't know.
