I need to start by saying don't sugar coat things. If the server crashed, then admit it. Being honest makes a big difference. As this is the first weekend since launch, you should have been prepared for a LARGE volume of players. The amount of downtime is freaking ridiculous. This is supposed to be worked out in Beta. If things don't improve, and pretty quick, i'll finish my 30 days and go back to WOW. I guess it was too much to hope STO would actually make it. Glad I didn't buy a lifetime.
F...is for ...we (F)ugded again on the server overlaod increase speech .....
U...is for (U)gh..we messed up again..
B...is for (B)ull shizzz-nots for these crashes..
A...is for (A)uto crash weekends from day one...
R... is for mabey a (R)efund is a good idea?
You are correct they should admit it when the server crashes? however rather than saying "Oops the server has crashed agaIn! they have a bit of text message that that fits many problems and that is quite simply "Unexpected Down Time"
You will renew your subscription after the 30 days as like all of us you are adictid to it?
I totaly agree that the down time is getting a bit silly now especially as we did lots of testing before the official release.
If you do feel that you have been put out then im sure Cryptic will refund you some of the time you have lost? just send them an email? as i am a lifer i dont know if this is done automatically or not and entered to your account.
I dont fully understand what you are refering to when you say "guess it was too much to hope STO would actually make it."
Errrr are you blind? STO has made it its possibly outselling every other game and this is the reason why we are encountering all these problems?
I will give them a second month, but if there is no improvment, then I WILL quit. By stating that it was too much to hope for that they make it, I did not mean go live and sell a million subs. I meant stay live and prosper (to quote a buddy . The original Star Trek Online was slated to go live back in 1998. The develop ment company went bankrupt. Since then, it has been one problem after another. Between developers coming and going faster than Kirk can work a party, and nightmarishly bad Beta tests, most fans had given up. When this game was announced, I swore to all my friends, it will never go live. Something will happen, as it always has. I was very glad to be proven wrong. However, my happiness was short lived. This game was rushed before it was really ready. Let's face it, even WOW isn't down this much. And the character movement on the ground reminds me more of old Nintendo games. But you are right, I am already addicted, and all in all, I DO like the game. But I will not continue at this level of frustration. I wish all you lifers the best, I really do. To quote another legend, "I'm a doctor, not a damn game developer!"
