I fully understand the level of complexity of an mmo but server drops and crashes due to load should have been addressed in a stepped approach within open beta. I don't know how many you invited but I do know that it was next to impossible to get into open beta. Within two weeks of launch you should have invited everyone.
I'm not new to mmos, Ive beta tested dozens, and often it's the same story. Is it wrong to think that mmo launches should improve over time? I would think that there is more experience in the talent pool today than say 10 years ago.
Often the rush to market can override doing the right thing and making sure servers don't crash and burn when under load.
If it's something else, like say, chinese addresses trying to brute force the login server then a little communication would go a long way.
Heck I paid for year's worth of open beta up front. Hopefully many of you were smarter then I. Once Star Wars the Old Republic is released I will gleefully give up my place in the queue for my fellow trekkies. I will be in a galaxy far far away from Cryptic.

How many times do they have to say "this game is way more popular than we were expecting?"
Also, with your "years of MMO experience," how many of those MMO launches weren't absolutely debilitating to playability?
This game has had six crashes in the two weeks and one day since the beginning of head start. All the hyperbole in the world doesn't change that. Most MMO's get twice that on their first day.
Every MMO is in beta until the servers are permanently shut down. If you really did have experience with dozens of MMOs rather than lying, you would know that.
I'd be more concerned if the server loads were at 1% on a Saturday. Crashing them due to overwhelming demand is fixable. Shutting them down due to lack of interest is not.

Dude jedi... Headstart the game went down like 6 or 7 different occasions.... Headstart was the worst Head start I can even think of bro.... I think the frustrating is the fact In a lot of peoples minds You do maintenance to fix a problem and or prevent a problem... They just did maintenance twice in 2 nights to have a problem arise.... Your cutting this slack as its a game.. What if you took your car in for maintenance and a few hours later it broke down? You would be hella ****ed and rip the mechanic a new one. Don't be naive man
