You keep saying we're getting more servers but is just seems to be lies, nothing you have done has improved server stability
i think its time to stop being cheap *******s and stop ripping us off, seeing as your selling an unfinished game your being incredibly cheeky by being cheap with the servers.
Do you actually want this game to succeed or are you just happy wtih the money you've made so far?
That's not true ... they have added gear, I believe that.
What you're missing is they won't "over order" gear so we can get on with our game, they order just enough so that 90% of us are taken care of ... TRIBBLE the other 10% .... when they sell a 100,000 more copies of the game, they will get enough servers ordered to handle 90,000 of em.

CRY SOME MORE!!
When is the last time you've sat in a login queue, and this is one of the first times that the servers have gone down unexpectedly in at least a week. Either they've added new server capacity, or a whole bunch of people have left. Because I haven't seen a login queue in about a week
i suggest you stop trolling. You have zero idea what cryptic is doing behind the scenes. All we know is that they are ordering more and are upgrading capacity. What you also need to understand is server stability is a long process that requires multiple patches and tweaks to both server and client.
If it is still very bad after a month, then you have a right to complain. If it is still bad after a longer time, then you have a right to compare it to WoW's lag, dc's server crashes and downtime
upgrading capacity on the game server, which is what we use 99% of the time, doesnt mean the server used to authenticate that your account is valid and retrieve your character information, which is used 1% of the time, needed upgrading.
this isnt a capacity issue anyway, there's a million things that could have gone wrong with that server but it wouldnt be because its overloaded with connections.
Get over yourself, why would they even lie over that? I haven't been in a queue for quite some time now.
why would they lie? marketing, their not going to say "hey we're cheap *******s and not going to increase server capactiy, we're just going to wait for people to get bored and stop playing"
i think its quite obvious that these guys are more PR focused than trying to fix the game

its 8pm GMT here, this is normally when the server crashes on the weekend, it happens every weekend
The only server upgrade I need is for the website : I can't enjoy the server's down QQing posts because it is so slow when everyone connect at the same time.
Get over yourself, why would they even lie over that? I haven't been in a queue for quite some time now.
Yea me neither. Havent seen one in about a week or so.
The stability of the game is improving as far as I can tell. Slow and steady, but its noticeable so I have to think they're doing something.
I hope it continues to improve and I have no doubt it will. Reason I have no doubt is because if there are major problems (which there arent) then people will stop trying to play, and problem solved. LoL. Weird logic I know but hey, its true.
But if things keep improving then we shouldnt be worried, and at the moment its a pretty stable game (there have been FAR WORSE). Im not saying its okay for the servers to crash because its not. Im just saying it could be worse, and its been getting better every week.
When is the last time you've sat in a login queue, and this is one of the first times that the servers have gone down unexpectedly in at least a week. Either they've added new server capacity, or a whole bunch of people have left. Because I haven't seen a login queue in about a week
Its not just the login queue ... its the delay when you are changing instances as it tries to find a place to spawn the new instance ... ite the "lost connection to server" you get because the server is busy trying to figure out where it can put you and hasn't responded to the client fast enough. Its trying to get into an exploration or fleet mission and having your group scattered to the winds by the server because it didn't have enough resources to create an instance.
The queue? That means nothing ... it just means they've put a higher priority on sector space instances, than other instances.
OP - please quit assuming that you know what's going on at the server farm or with Cryptics coding. All you're doing is getting mad over nothing.
No, I'd say he has a reason to be mad, just maybe not the reasons he thinks. I am beginning to appreciate all the server crashes. They give me time to catch up on the Forums.
The server this week has been a lot better than last week... And two patches in a week, that's not a sign they're ripping us off (ripping us off would be no patches).
How about we leave the drama for Drama class huh? Its just a game, Calm down, be patient, and let the techs do their thing, Histerics arent going to make it any better.

they already did two rounds of adding servers to the server farm, they never lied, and they never said they are going to add more game servers. they said they are added on to the server farm. get you're facts straight be post, it makes you look like a moron.
How do you KNOW there aren't multiple servers? Just because you don't get a "pick server" screen at the start doesn't mean they haven't found a new, seamless way of having multiple servers in the same "universe"...maybe when you change zone instances, you have a chance of actually changing to another server.
Gee, an innovative solution that doesn't involve having a dozen different universes in the same game?
Nawwww....they probably still want to be able to charge for Server Transfers later...making it happen seamlessly behind the scenes wouldn't make them any extra dough...heh.

Do you actually want this game to succeed or are you just happy wtih the money you've made so far?
actually i think server performance has increased significantly in the past 2 days or so....
i neither get rubberbanding or lags, nor am i sitting in a log in queue anymore at the moment, if i have to wait at log in a little longer, well, i can live with that, if the game runs smoothly.
its 8pm GMT here, this is normally when the server crashes on the weekend, it happens every weekend
really? because i dont normally have an issue all weekend, connecting from the UK too.
how much do you know about servers, especially database servers? are you aware of the various automated programs needed to keep things tidy and running? and how many of them there could be?
all it takes is for one unresolvable conflict to occur in a process to cause a memory loop, (or leak as its sometimes called) which eventually eats up all the memory of a system and it falls over. best thing is, it can take months to locate and plug such problems.
and, if its down, how can the problem be connections and capacity? if its down then everyone's booted off and there's no capacity issue as no-one's using it. if it was JUST capacity issues when enough people were booted off other could log on.. which isnt the case.

I love how you started your post and then went on to explain your complete lack of knowledge of how cryptic runs their datacentre.
This game is realy unstable and make me think it's in beta test with half of the traductions not completed (it's realy boring to play a game with half of the dialogs in english and the other half in french. It's beter to keep all the game ine english than offering such a mess).
But i can wait i little bit. This game as a great potential and I hope Cryptic too.
Be patient, as we said in french : Rome ne sait pas faite en un jour (Rome was not builded in one day).

Who cares what they are doing behind the scenes. Why is it the end user that needs to understand? I wonder if I can't pay my sub fee on time how *understanding* crytic would be and take into consideration my circumstances. Exactly, it's an unrealistic expectation but that's what you are proposing we do.
The fact is the server has been down almost as much as it's been up. In a production environment with people who paid to play the game should not be admonished for complaining about the service. Face it, it's lousy at this point. That's the bottom line.
There is a number of things they could have done to mitigate some of this, like expanded open beta for one. Load testing another.
People defending cryptic need to relise that, weekend outages is a very bad thing for them. It's going to hurt the company eventually. I LIKE this game. I want to retain players as much as possible so cryptic makes money to reinvtest. TRIBBLE like this isn't helping. They need to get on the stick, and they need to do some PR damage control. I'd recommend a little hand out for all the trouble, well, hard feelings at least, this TRIBBLE is causing. Give us a free downloadble playable race... or a custom pack or something... and get the game MORE stable. It's a good game. get on the stick crypitc and make it a great one!...

No, we realise that (And probably agree)
What we also realise is that throwing a hissy fit isnt constructive, and isnt going to change the anything; except our blood pressure.

Get off your high horse.
the user end doesnt need to understand the ins and outs.
the user end needs to understand that occasionally computers go down. when you have cluster servers, which pretty much everyone does, and the wrong one goes down, they all follow.
i'd like to see the proof that the servers been down as much as its been up. you're stating it as a fact so its logical to assume you have actual evidence to back such a bold claim. please provide a link to validate that statement.
and your payment for the box is for the license to use the software, the ongoing fee is for the right to connect. the EULA you sign to play states that 100% uptime and connectivity cannot be achieved and the company cannot be held liable for such issue.
and complaining on the forums about it solves nothing.
What we also realise is that throwing a hissy fit isnt constructive, and isnt going to change the anything; except our blood pressure.
I don't mind people throwing hissy fits. It's childish sure, which is why i leave it too childish people to do, but it highlists the problem. A problem that needs addressing.
I know, i know, constructive critisum works better, and in most cases it DOES, but theres nothing constuctive that can be said... this isn't an matter of fun or openion... it's a matter of the fact that the servers are down to often, can cryptic needs to do somethign about that yesterday...
Its a well known fact that all MMOs are released before they are ready. Beta test, load testing, content... only goes so far. I am not sure I can quote the day STO was released, but it has only been a few weeks at the most. After starting other MMOs you get used to it, if you have a problem with this, wait a few months and if there are still players, then buy.
Frustration always comes with being the first.
Besides, think about how bad that programmer feels when he notices that the extra "i" in a variable name on like 200,000,000 of code.
That's right ... you guys just keep defending and excusing the situation ... that's exactly why Developers allow these situations to exist.
What does it matter? If the majority of the herd don't care, why should Cryptic?
If the developers didn't care, why did we get no less than 2 patches this week?
Stop overreacting. We care, and if it consistently keeps up, we'll quit too. We're not excusing it, we're being patient and letting them do their jobs.
