Anyone else think the skill tree needs to be changed somwhat? Two things i know for sure is ONE y would u put skill points to any of the ships stats heavy esctor cursier etc except the first and last one? Two even more important IMO is the weapons inless the T5 weapons antiproton tricobalt etc are actually more powerfull compared to fully spec disruptors they should all cost the same amount of skills.

There is one poster here who was saying that he was planning on staying in his tier 4 ship and not buying the tier 5. So, if you're planning on doing something like that, the tiered ship skills could be useful to you.

No i dont want to to gimp myself, if i want to play with my old ship ill just get it out of the shipdock for kicks,

But what about the weapons if there all equal how can it be justified at all to have some cost more?

I agree that it needs work. There are quite a few threads about the skill system, and a lot of people are unhappy with it. Search around, and you'll find a lot of discussion about the subject.

you'd think this would be higher on the priority list than fixing miniskirts for uniforms so people can beat off to.

You would think that, wouldn't you? But the devs have been suspiciously quiet about this whole skills issue.

Costume customizations are relatively easy to code and implement. Re-coding the skill tree takes quite a bit more effort and testing.

The way I look at it is this, the dps is usally the same for all the disruptor/phaser/tetryon weapons that I have found so far. The only difference is the added effect. I.E. disabling a subsystem or debuffing targets defence. I think its a matter of personal taste when it comes to the weapons. I prefer phaser cannons and tetron cannons at the moment.

As far as hte ship skills I totally agree with you,if you are going to get say Heavy Escort, at least have it have some sort of effect on all escorts, just with a bonus to heavy escort if that is what you are currently using.

And the people that work on costumes wouldn't be working on skill trees anyway.

In part of the end game content for STO, Spock is going to wake up and find that the entire new movie and all of the events in it were nothing but a bad dream brought on by a mixture of Bendii Syndrome and eating at Del Taco.

    Just wait.
