Typically people would respond to this type of post with something like "thanks for sharing", and I almost did that myself. But after thinking about it, I'm not thankful at all, so I think "no thanks for sharing" better suits my meaning
Sorry, first post and just to say I am finding the game extremely boring repetative and will be unsubscribing untill some better content comes in.
1. No need to team up nand can pretty much go alone in the game = almost feel too much like a single player
2. Missions are really starting to become a button mash and not even challenging
3. Auction house with no filters = crazy
4. no crafting worth doing at all = takes a lifetime and cost a fortune for rubbish you cant even sell
5. One of the most boring MMO I have ever played.
As I alway say, not every game is right for every individual. If we all liked the same type of game we'd all be posting on the WoW forum now and there'd be no STO. The best you can do is go out and find a game that fits your individual needs. I wish you luck in that.
and eve, times in eve have been some of the most boring ever.
I consider Eve to be just about the most boring game I've ever played. I've spent, literally, days of real-world time doing nothing but mining or camping. Could you imagine what it would be like if you had to spend 3 real days at Sol Starbase sitting in the Admiral's office waiting to be seen to get your promotion?
I don't understand why people are backhandedly insulting the OP. He has every right to state his opinion. I suppose that everyone also has the right to backhandedly insult him so I've answered my own question.
I'm just getting sick of people acting like others shouldn't even bother with throwing criticism at the game as if for some reason it isn't welcome.

If the criticism isnt given in a constructive way, then it ISNT welcome. There is nothing constructive about posting a thread named "boring, boring, boring".

Well, first, I didn't insult the OP in any way.
Second, there's criticism and there's constructive criticism. Most of the time criticism is just emotional ejaculation - I don't like it so I must tell the world I don't. Most of us don't care about other people's subjective emotional opinions. What we do care about is constructive critcism which tries to make the game better, such as some of us posting about not liking the "fight to the death" premise of the game and looking for solutions to add more diplomacy into the game.
It's not always what you say. It's how you choose to say it.

It's his first post and all he did was QQ. Why bother? Quit, move on and stop cluttering the boards with whiny non-sense.

Let me tell you why, it gets very old very quickly , don't know how much exp you have with games of this type , every single time a game comes out (MMO) is the same stuff over and over again , I don't mine someone sharing there ideas , but for God sakes can you do it in a more mature way? I hated WaR when it was finally released so many things that were promised were not in game , but i never made a post that was a troll bait thread , I expressed my disappointment and mostly I got good response form both supporters and non supporters , as a wise man once said "It's not what you say its how you say it"

Alright, I won't say anything "backhandedly". He should go back to WoW where he belongs, and so should you.
Every single MMO that is realeased since WoW, there are always man-children who say Game X sucks, is boring, etc. without saying anything constructive, like the OP. If you don't like a game, the just leave. I didn't have a big whine session when I stopped playing Lotro.
The OP does actually have a point on the first four notes. They are all areas in which the game needs to improve - and it will. All MMO's worth their salt grow and evolve into better experiences and I'm sure ST:O will be no different.
As for point 5, I could hardly call the game boring. If you're not enjoying the game, by all means cancel your subs - that's your right as a consumer. But do check in with the game at a later date when changes and new content will have been brought in.

How much of a disertation should someone write up to say the game is boring then?
Just curious? As I personally believe he's spot on. Shure it's been said in funnier ways but.....
I agree OP, there are times in space I just look at the stars flying by, and man I am bored. Or after killing the umpteenth ship with my skillz=Science Ship, I watch them explode into a million pieces, and I am bored again.... until the next ship comes by. My main problem with the game is that it's so long. It's so long, long, long... you have to travel everywhere, and run, and walk around... I just want to know when this game is gonna end.

Simple enough. It ends the moment you cancel your subscription.

The simple fact that he stated it was boring is constructive in itself. It SHOULD cause someone to take a moment to stop and think about WHY another might consider it boring.

No one is forcing you to read it. By commenting on this you've only given his post more visibility. Your beinga little counterproductive towards your own opinion hmmmm?
Saying something is boring could be considered productive because perhaps the content developers will read it and realize they should think of a more dynamic missions.
If he had taken the time to write out an entire script of something he'd like to see, most of us would probably not take the time to read that novel.

Not really. Opinions are subjective. If I hate football and say it's boring, does that mean it's really boring, or is it just boring to me because I don't like it? If millions of others like Football then obviously the game isn't boring to them. It's all subjective opinion, and one person's boring is another person's excitement. People are so self-centered that they can't accept that someone else might like something they don't. That's not to say the game doesn't have problems but you'll never get 2 subjective opinions to agree on anything.
The simple fact that he stated it was boring is constructive in itself. It SHOULD cause someone to take a moment to stop and think about WHY another might consider it boring.
It's subective. I find 90% of this game insuferably boring, just the cookie-cutter nature of missions. But I really like the fleet actions. On the other hand I find 90% of EVE absolutley riviting. You might find my thoughts strange and confusing as you've tried EVE and you didn't like what felt like competitive Excel spreadheeting, you've rescued the damn damsel 900 times and she STILL goes back to Kruul and can't stand the fleet actions in STO.
But then I've been saying pretty much the same thing since open beta so hey.

Go back to WoW boy!

*cough*
And I use phrases and terminology from EVE, yet nobody around here seems to mind when I ask what the equivilent of Basilisk or Rook is.

Inappropriate? OOPS... Sorry
