Most of us are guessing that the first Expansion Pack will be for Romulan play, levels 5-45. Of course Cryptic needs to finish the Klingon Faction first, so I wouldn't expect to see a Romulan EP for 6 months or more.
IF Cryptic expects us to PAY for playable races when the game SHOULD have launched with more than it did, only goes to show Cryptic for what they are.......small minded money grabbers with very little in the way of customer loyalty.
Anyone with ANY business sense would realise they would make more from subs by ADDING FREE CONTENT than by milking the players at every turn. This game is called STAR TREK ONLINE, not federation online, and as such is misleading as to how many playable races there are. I for one will not be paying beyond my free time as this just gets worse as time goes on.

Yay! More trolling by Kee-Bhor!
Alright, this game launched with, like 15+ races for free. How is that not enough? I don't know of any other MMO that gives you more. I DO know of some popular ones that give you a lot less.
They've already given us free content, and will be giving out more free content. However, I only know of one MMO - EvE - that gives full expansion packs for free.
You're leaving in two weeks? That's the best STO-related news I've ever heard.
After fighitng Reman Battleships and such, im dying to play a Reman/Romulan Escort ship...those things are the sweetest looking ships I had ever seen!....
I myself would love a neutral/smuggler/privateer faction aand be able to pilot other ships in STO outside of the main Federatiin/Kling/Rom/Cardy ships.

considering that they added a system to design countless playable races - i can't seem to agree that there arn't enough races to play.

yes a civillian faction featuring privite transports / smugglers / pirates and stuff would be sweet - this could be done as a open PvP faction class.... transport players would fly from planet to planet delivering goods/buying more to take to another planet - pirate plays can run around sector space looking for them or setting up ambush points in side popular traffic points and trigger pvp battles by flying into them (like how deep space encounters work) - would require both disabling and boarding the ship to get the cargo - traders can send out distress calls if they get boarded and nearby fed/klink/rom/etc military players near by will get mission to try to help out before the stuff is stolen.. only as many military ships can respond as there is on the pirate team... if the transport player is running smuggled goods the responding government ships can then detain and increase their reward.
transport's can even have an impact on the economy... say for example a transport capain/team take a mission to run a load of rare tribbles to DS9. if they succeed then a merch in Quarks bar will have rare tribbles for sale untill their sold out. - can do weapons and ship stuff as well.
I'ld also like to see non faction factions... like the Maquis or Harogen (sp?) - un-offical rag tag rebel groups fighting for their own cause's. - also probably best as a open PvP as the governments would want their militaries stopping the kind of chaos that these types of groups would cause in their space.

I am willing to wait as long as it takes for them to do it right.. full PvE and a good story... and yes.. they need to finish the Klingons first.
Me too....
if it would happen in about 6 months would be hard to wait, but better they take a bit more time and make them with good storyline and misions.
not such strange thing like klingon are
