lol yer those aid the planet ones i just warp right on out again.
like anyone can be arsed to carry a whole bunch of random commodities around in the hope the one they require will crop up. those commodities rarely drop anywhere near enough to make these quests viable.
dont mind the odd non combat mission tho .. id like to see more quests that you influence the outcome by multiple choice, interacting wiith story more, perhaps gaining favour with a particular faction ..
.. i guess that adds more depth than us casual bubbleheads can cope with i spose
I love the non-combat missions. I love the ability to do Star Trek missions...without this ridiculous preoccupation with blowing up Klingons and Romulans. I do not, however, enjoy the aid-the-planet missions which cost an enormous amount of money and give so little in return. I would like to be able to do Patrol missions over - instead of the Defend missions which are done over and over.

Relief Effort missions are teh suck. I avoid them like the plague.
What I do like and I think the OP is refering to are the missions where you are scanning things in space or on a planet and no combat is involved.
Not long enough to be a time suck like the aid ones, and easy enough for a 'ah, a bit of a rest from combat' thought, especially in an RPG sense.
A few times I have had a patrol mission from starfleet turn out to be 3 missions of scanning, non-combat away teams or space flights.
Lovely

Absolutely. I wish we had the ability to opt for more of these (hint hint, see my signature).
Yeah, they've been a pleasant surprise to me.
