No one has mentioned the newly added 'feature' that when you beam to your ship, your skirt seems to dematerialize first, and briefly you are shown standing there wearing a thong ... did they have thongs in the 60's? Oh okay ... shhhhhh ...
I'd like to KNOW WHY we STILL CAN'T apply these costume changes to our female BOs? I just tried & there is no option available for the skirts or boots.
I'd like to comment that the "mini skirt" looks awful. Looks like a towel wrapped around the waist. I'm assuming Cryptic has NEVER seen the TOS & how the female officer uniform looked like?
Link to a wondeful picture of Uhura & how the uniform is suppose to look. Notice the boots are NOT hip boots either.
I know the thigh boots are not cannon - I just love em anyway.
If you want the gogo look the "soft boots" are the ones to pick. Other than flatter heals they look pretty much like TOS screenshots.
The scoop neckline would be nice but the skirt looks very nice with the male top.
Uhura also wore a short skirt in WoK and there her top matched the guys top. And this skirt looks cute with the wok top in game too.
The movie wok tops were bulky more like jackets - this game is more skin tight - but I guess I just get into having cute and more girl-y options for my character and the wok tops are pretty cute imo.
I'm thrilled and just sad I missed out getting mirror uni options
This is all nice, but HOW DO I FIND THE SKIRT OPTION?! I already have the top part of the uniform.
Thank You.
I just went to the tailor on sol station - and then edited my character
The uniform lower has a new line "skirts"
and then the thigh boots are called knee highs
rinse an repeat for a couple boffs.
there was some lag - after I made the purchase
also I did notice that when zoning in to new area (beam in) the skirt materializes a bit late LOL and you do see panties for a few seconds

I completely agree. This just confirmed to me what I suspected when we did not get the uniforms on launch day. They did not have the womens' TOS uniforms at all, and have only just now managed to knock out a cheap third rate version. The space hooker boots and this crummy 1980's spandex mini skirt are nothing like the uniform from the TOS.
Also as someone else mentioned when you are zoning the skirt disappears and leaves you flashing/mooning everyone in your underpants for a split second which I find disconcerting to say the least. Don't even get me started on the fact that there is no top for the skirt to make it look like a cohesive, one piece uniform. This just looks like I rolled out of bed after sleeping with the first officer in my floozy boots and skirt and pulled his shirt on by mistake. Not exactly the impression I'd like to give my crew.
Disappointment is an understatement and I really urge Cryptic to take another pass with the uniforms.

You need to go back and try again, my female XO is wearing a skirt and thigh high boots.
in my floozy boots and skirt and pulled his shirt on by mistake..
But but... I think being a floozy in games is fun - its a game, anyway Sheva in her gold mini- clubbing outfit? I mean awesome... my bf got me the dde edition just for the floozy bits
but if you want a skirt - it looks real cute with the wok top and may other tops and you can wear the short boots or soft boots - also cute - very gogo and not floozy at all...
well - technically cannon tos for girls was floozy ...
But I do think my 2 characters are too cute for words
Apparently some of us are bugged and don't have the skirts showing up at the tailor. And yes, I bought the DDE version for TOS costume unlocks so it should be there. I guess it will need to go in as a report. Damn...and I've been waiting for these too...
It looks like they also added the option of choosing TOS badges for the shirts.
I'm glad miniskirts are working, but Cryptic still needs to update the tops to be more show-accurate. Female officers are supposed to have a more generous neckline than the male officers (GOD I love the '60s).
Yeah, I can select skirts when making a new character, but I cannot select skirts for my pre-existing character =(
Ya, I just re-checked. If I make a new female character, it is available. It is not available for my BO's. Not sure what the problem is because apparently some other posters have stated that they have them on their BO's. I hope they sort this out soon; but I won't expect anything over the weekend.
that is odd, My toons are Commander and Lt. (both pre-existing) but I had the option first thing when I went to the sol station tailor early this morning...
The following is a note I wrote to Cryptic, using the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of the forums. I'd like to urge everyone who is disappointed by the "skirt solution" to take a few moments and send your feedback to Cryptic. Posting in the forums is great, but it's easy to dismiss negative comments in the forums. The best way to be heard is to speak.
If you do choose to contact Cryptic, please remember to be respectful and calm.Yelling and screaming, and grandstanding or threatening to quit the game won't get your point across. Be direct, be honest about your feelings, and be reasonable in your requests.
Digital Deluxe Edition Premiums - Let's not skirt the issue.
In particular.. this is about skirts. Or more to the point, about the Original Series uniform dress.
I made my purchase decision for the Digital Deluxe Edition PURELY on the good faith belief and understanding that Cryptic would provide me with some semblance of Original Series uniforms for men and women. When I checked into it, your representatives and website repeatedly stipulated that the female uniform would be included.
As someone who paid an additional $10 for access to these game elements, what you provided does not meet my expectations.
The original Series uniform was a single clothing item. A dress, not a skirt. The men's version was a shirt and trousers, but the women's version was a rather short cut dress.
Here is a photograph of the clothing item in question.
At no time in the history of Star Trek merchandising that I've ever seen, has Uhura's uniform EVER been mistaken for the men's shirt with a skirt under it.
I want to say, that I do appreciate the addition of the skirt to the clothing options. It's a very nice addition for the Wrath of Khan uniform jacket. That said however, it is NOT a reasonable substitute for what I feel that Cryptic promised me.
I'm normally a very ardent supporter of Star Trek Online, and very forgiving of bugs and imperfections.. I purchased a lifetime subscription because what I saw in beta showed me that Cryptic finally "understood" Star Trek. But then after 2 weeks of promises.. and this is what we get for our patience.
I'm really not pleased with this, and I suspect I'm not alone in this feeling. I hope that Cryptic would hear their customers responses, and consider making a proper women's version of the uniform available as soon as the artwork can be done.
Yours Truly,
PodSix
P.S. For some reason, the skirt and boots aren't available to my existing characters, but they're available if I create a new character.
I can understand (programing-wise) why the skirt would be seperate from the tops. It gives us the ability to mix-and-match with other uniform choices without having to completley re-incorporate a once-piece uniform item when everything else fits into these slot categories.
But if they were to just update the female uniform top to match the skirt better, it could still come across as a one piece dress.
It is clear they are not "cannon" in terms of neckline or one piece, the black hose are missing too but...
and this is only my opinion - I do think that it is a "semblence" of TOS uniform. Choose the soft boots or short boots, color the top to match the skirt and use the tos badges... The game may have body part limits, clipping limits , and even asymmetrical limits (I don't really know for sure).
The mini-skirt/dress option was included in the dde with many other things so its very hard to argue that you paid $10 for them (even if in your view that was the most important item)
I am sorry you are unhappy - but I for one am thrilled - I was beginning to think there would be zero feminine uniforms.
I hated the spandex pants with the funky crotch wrinkles... and the baggy and long pants just plain don't do much for female characters - except my one pixie boff.
Good luck on the petition tho... I'm all for more clothing options
The problem has solved itself after logging out and in several times. Perhaps the problem is due to latency or something. So anyone affected by it might want to try either logging out/in or changing instances.
In my view, the wait for "TOS skirts" has not ended---we got nifty skirts, but we don't have a TOS female uniform. May as well just keep waiting and complaining.

Cryptic, get it right!

wow... thigh boots too? Suddenly I am thinking of not having an all male away team.

No, there are the pullover uniform shirt, the old style insignia, and the mid-calf cut off trousers as well.
Ok. But if I want to give a skirt to a bridge bunny, I have to have the TOS Uniforms, right? That's what I'm asking.
