Whats the point of fleets

Are they just ment as a large social hub or what.

I mean we cannot even form a group or 20 to go and do a fleet action, instead we all just get thrown into SEPARATE instances, This kinda defeats the object of a fleet.

Would not really mind if the instancing server was inteligent enough to put everyone from the same fleet into the SAME instance.

Or just an option to create our own instance with a password on it.

I love this game but at the moment it feels like this game was made as a single player game then reskinned for an MMO.

Being able to make a fleet only >raid< into a fleet action would be a large step in the right direction I feel of making this into an MMO.

Anyone else feel this way ??

It assists you in having a bowel movement.

    Sorry wife's a nurse.

Other than that, they will add guild functionality in the future

    Fleet = Guild

    That is all.

I was in a Fleet from the beginning. All it amounted to was a calm, mature chat room. Oh and every now and then I'd donate to fleet bank, and or make a withdrawl. But other than that I never needed the fleet for missions or such...
Nice to be in a good one, but not needed.

Yes and guild's get into big groups 10+, and go and kill some big bad, or use teamwork to beat an instance.

The biggest instance you can do in this game at the moment is FLEET actions but you cannot use your FLEET you are FORCED to pug it.

here's to hoping that they give us the option of banding 20 members together to go do a fleet action.

A Fleet (guild) is simply what one makes of it.

The one I'm in is very chatting. Not just being generally social, but also answering peoples questions, helping with builds, etc. We also use it to team up for missions that we have in common, or simply to take a break from soloing.

Bad guilds usually way out number the good ones, sadly. I think I was lucky to find a good one so quickly.

This, right here. The one I started is relatively small - only 40 members - but we're chatty on vent and in-game chat, as some members either haven't set Vent up yet, or just don't feel like it. However, those of us at RADM help each other out, and those at lower levels get into groups too. Now that i'm RADM, I mostly just work on my alt, helping out lower-level players.

I started a thread discussing possible fleet feature. You are welcome to contribute ideas to it:

Le tme jump on the band wagon here and cast my vote on this as well.

Cryptic needs to give us larger Fleet actions and Raids for our Guilds. I would love to see 20+ Fleets of players I've chosen to group up with not just random encounters. The fun comes from planning big raids.
