Viral Matrix .....

i know its under review.

But, the DEV's actually said this is going to be fixed in a patch. Now were getting 2 patches with a lots of fixes to some skills. Now im asking myself, why isnt Viral Matrix still fixed ? Is it really difficult to fix that ?

I dont whine about that, both Sides can use Viral Matrix, but it messes PvP end up, the smack about it in Zone Chats are really annoying and make me sad.

Please fix it soon, or get us an information about the process itself.

    I wasn't aware anything was wrong with it. I just picked it up and it is working fine.

    Yeah the skill sucks feels cheap to use and sucks when its used on you.
    Way over powered.

    Overpowered implies that there is no counter. There are numerous counters to VM. Now, if you were trying to say that you can't use Science Team while under the effect of VM to remove it, I would say yes, that is annoying and may fall under the bug category, but I have yet to hear any word if it is or is not. Either way would work for me, just have a buddy Sci Team you and go about killing.

    The Skill itself works fine, but u can counter it with the Science Team Skill, if someone else cast it on you.

    Actually the statement from the Devs was, u should be able to cast Science Team on urself while under Viral Matrix and this isnt working now.

    Once ST is fixed, the whole VM is OP argument should go away some.

    Its a stun, Sci Team is your trinket.

    The problem little johnny is that SCI team doesn't provide you immunity to this little gem of a skill...ask me about it...I know.

    And no you cannot use any skill to break out of it.

    I will fully admit I never tried it, but there have been several posts indicating that using Sci Team while the purple bolt of death is on it way does immunize you from the effect. Using Sci Team on someone who has VM also breaks the condition. The only problem is not being able to use Sci Team while under the effect, which does need to be fixed yes. It is still not OP.

    I CAN'T STAND VM. Everything goes dark during and I have Science Team.

    Now that's out of the way..... Who would fly a ship without Science Team? It is like the second best shield buff I've seen.

    Attack pattern Omega breaks it, and can be used while under it's effects.

    I hit Sci Team probably 50/50 just in time to prevent the little purple torpedo's effects. The other 50% of the time there's just to much going on to notice it or I 'm just not fast enough to hit Sci-team before I get hit.

    Although I disliked the skill immensely in open beta, I think it's fine now. Back in OB if you got hit with VM it was usually by a Romulan battleship(dont remember what they are, deridex or somethin' like that) that quickly followed up with an overloaded plasma torpedo that would one shot you. Now however, that's not the case. I've sat through dozens of VMs with several ships wailing on me with little to no fear.

    Now I'm sure pvp it sucks, but balancing a game's mechanics around pvp when the game is 99.99% pve is a bad idea and NEVER turns out right.

    What fix are the devs considering?

    The only fix I've heard about is one where clicking Science Team post VM completely negates VM. IMO, that would be less than fair to those of us who've spent most of our skill points in Sensor Array + Sensor Probes for offensive sci abilities.

    You already have a couple of counters to VM. If applying sci-team post VM cut the duration of the effect in half, that would be fine. But, giving someone an insta-break from VM with an ensign level skill is pretty rubbish.
