Borg...with shields??? I've watch the Best of Both Worlds Pt 1 and 2, I've watched First Contact, I've played Legacy and I did play SFC3 once upon a time. In all the examples mentioned, THE BORG DID NOT HAVE SHIELDS so why, Cryptic, did you decide to go against the grain and give the second most powerful non-omnipotent species (second to the Undine) in the Star Trek universe shields when not even the creators of Star Trek did?
It's not a war winner, but it does seem to take away the "dread factor" of the Borg. A single Cube owned 39 ships of varying classes with little to no damage and it had no shields. That is scary. A Borg ship with shields? You could say it's even scarier however when you drop the shield, it's hull is very squishy when given a salvo of torps. You could achieve the same effect of durability by removing the shields, increasing the hull points, increasing the damage resistance (to all types...except maybe transphasic torpedoes and mines

) and increasing the hull repair rate (as there are thousands of drones on a Borg ship).
What does the wider populace think of this? I'm not a hardcore Trekkie, I don't live, think and dream it but Borg with shields just seems wrong. Would you be happier if they were more "true to canon"?
Also, what are your thoughts on joint Starfleet/KDF anti-Borg Fleet Actions? Do they exist? As far as I know they don't but I haven't gotten very far in yet. If they don't exist, what are your thoughts on this? In lore, all races can put aside their differences when the Borg are involved so why not in the year 2409?

It's just they don't tend to have been visible in most of the episodes.
Borg defenses are adaptive in the show, and they only use what's absolutely nessesary, but they've shown the use of shielding on borg drones, and the ships almost seem to ignore damage...
Also worth considering that 4 quantum torpedoes obliterated a borg sphere in First Contact...
Whatever defenses borg ships have, it isn't entirely clear what you would consider them.
It's probably just simpler to treat them as 'shields' because there are most likely a lot of subtle problems with the game otherwise.
In any event, just because you couldn't 'see' shields in episodes doesn't mean they weren't present.
In Pretty much all of the fleet actions shown in DS9, none of the ships seemed to have shields, though dialogue suggests otherwise.
I really don't know if borg ships have shields of some kind or not, and that's saying something, because I know a huge amount about all kinds of technical questions... XD.
