Here I am scanning debris in NGC 1218 and this giant vacuum cleaner puts me into combat and sucks me into the debris field unable to be freed. I can't escape no matter what engine powers I use, when I log out it puts me in the exact same spot, and in combat you can't leave the system. Genius, this is one of those things that should never have happened. I don't feel like effin making a bug ticket and waiting a week before they figure out how to unstick me. This is pretty much it for me with this game.

Sorry to read that your having problems. Good thing your Windows computer hasn't crashed, otherwise you'd probably quit that too.
What kind of point is that? You reboot windows, you can't do anything to fix this. You want me to sit there not being able to do anything while cryptic sucks my money up? Don't comment if you're going to be so idiotic about it.
If the OP is accurate then there IS a problem there.... I wouldn't rush out and quit... either there IS aw ay out that he hasn't found or he needs to contact as GM...

Actually you can do something to fix it. I told you how.
In my very first 20 minutes or so playing this game, back in Head Start, I did that first space mission where we have to destroy the Borg probes.
And of course, one of the probes was stuck in the middle of the wreckage and I couldn't target it. I sat there for more than 25 minutes trying to target it, getting VERY frustrated, when one player said the same thing had happened to him and he was able to progress by flying INTO the wreckage.
So of course, I did that and got stuck.
/unstuck and /stuck didn't work, and there was no sign of a GM responding to my ticket.
So I was extremely frustrated right up until someone suggested I change instance, and that worked perfectly.
Like I said....extremely frustrating. But we have to remember all MMOs have bugs, and this certainly wasn't any worse than the time my Tauren was perpetually stuck in a ghost version of Dalaran for an hour, and every time I resurrected I fell through the earth and to my death. In that case, it really did take a GM to get me out, and we're talking about the "most polished MMO in the world" here.

That system is meant to be episode-only. Check to see if you got a new mission, and then drop it. You should either get the option to leave the system or you'll leave automatically after a 15 mins log-out.

but yeah, do log out for 15mins.

No, I don't expect you to sit there like some dumb idiot but neither do I expect you to come to these forums and post some idiotic rant about not wanting to seek an avenue of assistance and threaten to quit a game because you can't be bothered to figure out how to get yourself out of a problem.
I'm sorry you didn't pick up on the subtleties of my comment. Perhaps I should have just asked very simply if you had logged out of the game for over 15mins which drops your ship from the mission instance back into sector space.

theres no /stuck or /unstuck commands, for STO it's "/killme" try using that next time... although changing instances is likely the quicker, easier way as mentioned.
I too got stuck in the geometry of some debris in this very mission, but i managed to scrape my way out of the debris. i think i used evasive manouvers and cranked up my engine power and simply "Pushed" my way along the geometry, suddenly i pinged into the wormhole or whatever it is and the mission could continue
Hope you manage to get out of the sticky situation, good luck!

There is a /stuck and /unstuck command, or at least there was on the first day of Head Start.

If this small issue makes you want to leave the game though, well i better not show you where the lemonade is made

That's for sector space only. What the OP described is some sort

You don't know squat about processors do you? It's the same as a Q9450.

I think that these commands never really unstucked the character, the only thing they did was open some sort of ticket window for GM contact.
