MMO - Where's the Massive part of the title?

SystemSystem Member, NoReporting Posts: 178,019 Arc User
Basically, I'm now maxed out, all Episode's completed, the lot.

So where's the massive part of the game? It's taken me 2 weeks to basically complete the game? I feel a little disappointed to say the least.

I'm not saying this is a bad game, I like it a lot really, just, it's short.

I personally feel the skill cap is the major problem here, I mean, what do I have to aim for now? I have 8 ships, and Deep Space Science maxed skill wise, and there is nothing to challenge me, so really, all that's left is to spend another 2 weeks maxing out another character, doing the exact same thing.

I know they plan on releasing content, but come on, 2 weeks and now I have nothing to do? It's a little disappointing. Anyone else feel the same way?

Congrats. Now empty the TRIBBLE out of your sock and move on to another game. If it helps, Allods Online starts next week

Yeah. Im RA 1 though so I have a few lvls left then Im off to play other stuff. Not worth paying more until they add about twice as much content as there is now.

you do know that the massive part of MMO is tied in to multi player. you see multi player can be as small of two players, but since were dealing hundreds to thousands of players it makes it a massively multi player. under stand now. also a lot of people don't under stand that so it's ok that you got it wrong.

Well done for advertising your lack of brain power for all to see. If you didn't notice, I was highlighting the lack of content, and the rather pesky skill cap...

So Xbox live is a MMO? Think before you post.

Get's people's attemtion a little more than just 'lack of content' :P. Also, most of the game can be done solo, and is easier to do solo, hitting on the multiplayer part of it :/.

Massive isn't the problem word.. its MULTIPLAYER

Since auto-teaming is bugged.. This is basically a single player game with a instant messaging chat box filled with spam

"MMOGs can enable players to cooperate and compete with each other on a large scale, and sometimes to interact meaningfully with people around the world. They include a variety of gameplay types, representing many video game genres."

5v5 and 10v10 isnt large scale.

well that is a play style, and a personal choice, I myself am taking my time, and playing with people. sure I'm only LC 4, but I'm enjoying the ride, if you chose to play alone that is you're choice, but the ride is much different.

Where's the massive part? Massive lag during primetime would be my answer.

Just because it's a mmo, doesn't mean it has infinite play time, especially at release. So quit playing if you do not want to play any more, or do not enjoy it. This isn't rocket science. :D

A massively multiplayer online game (also called MMO) is a video game which is capable of supporting hundreds or thousands of players simultaneously
also would you call puzzle pirates a large scale? yet that is a MMO. added to that content has nothing to do with large scale. a fleet action is large scale, some of the missions are large scale, but the amount of content is not large scale, but thanks for proving yourself wrong.

now I'm done with this thread. moving on. :D

Only if you want it to be. Last night I met some random person in zone chat who was on the same mission as me. We knocked that one out, did a couple patrols together, and then moved on to a DSE. Immediately after entering we grouped with 2 other people already inside and wiped the place out.

I went solo into another DSE and grouped with three people inside, eventually putting all 3 on my friends list because we worked so well together.

There's no Dungeon Finder, but its not hard at all to play with others in this game.

You should be disappointed, with yourself. The MMO doesnt just stand for Massive, it stands for multiplayer, you know, the social part of the game.

I suspect, you completly missed out on all of that.....

I believe they want to be forced to play, it not hard at all to find people, unless you go out of you're way not to meet them.

If you're maxed out by doing the Episodes, etc... then you saw all the content. It's not Cryptic's fault that you weren't looking.

If you choose to see it or play it that way. I group about 50% of my game time, chat with people constantly, and am in a fleet of people who lay together. It to fit the bill of MMORPG to me. Its all about choice, bro. I choose to play a MMMORPG. It looks like you choose to play a single player game.

"MMOGs can" means that the MMO can, but does not have to, do this. The definition of MMO does not even have to include PvP.
