Gave up on this and have moved on to BioWare's Mass Effect 2.
Night and day.
Mass Effect 2 is engaging, awseome cut scenes.. feels MASSIVE, interactive and fantastic FPS.
You have your OWN ship, controls, pilot, engineering, tech, weapon area's.
BO's have compelling stories and background.
I can't wait to see bioware's star wars online game.

If your a sci fi nut, love fps and interactive games I highly recommend MASS Effect 2.
This game has elements I wish Cryptic had included in their STO game.
Boo to Cryptic..

N yes I know Mass Effect to is not a MMORPG, but neither is STO.
STO is just and Online Game with a subscription fee.

It's a good game. I wish Bioware could figure out a way to limit the time on the loading screens though. Spending 10 minutes looking at loading screens while you're just doing things on the ship is kind of annoying. Dragon Age had the same problem. Playing Bioshock 2 made me realize how bad it is and that you can have large areas with good graphics without the crazy loading screens.

But as far as Mass Effect 2 and STO go, it is MMORPG vs. single player. There are definitive limitations when you're designing content to be interact able by multiple people at the same time.

STO's ground combat fugging sux! After playing Mass Effect 2, I don't want to play STO's ground missions.

Mass Effect 2 is a great scifi game made by a company I deeply respect. I bought it and play it regularly, trying to not burn it too quickly.

    But :

    1) STO is set in the ST universe, which is my fav IP
    2) STO is an MMO, I play with my friends, which I cannot do with Mass Effect 2.

Which is why I play both games.

Loading Screens don't take 10 mins for me, about 15-20 secs..
Just watching some of the devs videos on SWTOR and seems to be the same type
of play style. Full speaking and no txt pop up's.. Amazing really.. Cut scenes..

I wish Bio Ware had the Star Trek IP.

I think Bioware would make an excellent Star Trek and Cryptic an excellent Star Wars. But that's in a parallel universe.

    1. STO is my fav IP yes.
    2. Trying to get 10 members of a fleet in the same arena/instance... impossible currently.

All I'm saying is Mass Effect 2 is a fun, engaging sci fi game. Tis takin my mind of the dissapointment that
this game is... again my opinion.

So your actually advertizing another game on the STO forums, trying to get people to quit?

Just when I think you guys couldnt get lower, you sink to incredibly lower levels... so pathetic.

I'm not trying to get anyone to quit anything. Play STO online I did. Play EVE I did. Play SWG I did.
    Play whatever you like...

Truth hurts. If people spent $60 on a game they feel is poorly designed they have every right to point towards more successful games and more promising franchises. I canceled my sub a week in because I felt STO was that painful to play.

It's hard to sink any lower then Cryptics treatment of the Star Trek universe.

If you actually played the game in PvP you'd group all the time and see it is an mmo.

    Fallen Earth.

Sci Fi setting, altho a bit darker than the star trek universe.

but it breaks the standard mmo mold in several regards.
