"JIM, SHE'S DEAD... BUT I THINK SHE"S STILL TALKING TO YOU!" -- Bones

PLEASE NOTE: I don't like to give spoilers to anyone having ( not ) gone through this particular mission yet that I just completed, so am going to try to be very general and not give away the plots and character names from the Star Trek TV series, so anyone replying who knows what mission I'm referring to please PLEASE don't spoil it for the new players not yet given that mission, ok? Best gifts are those wrapped! Thanks.

Ok, so here's the situation:

Am given a mission to help a character that was very young at the time in one of the recent Star Trek TV series that was aired some years ago, and she's the key to the story that am sure I'll be encountering again in future missions, so it seems to me from my experience from this. Anyway, she's there to do some diplomatic works for some dignitaries between major key races and factions. I beam down on the planet and sees her and get then get the full scoops of who she was from that Star Trek TV series, and then to my surprise she went along with me and my away team on our ground mission there. She helped in the middle of heated 'actions', too! That was really cool and I thought STO peeps did some clever works tying with the continuation of the TV series!
But I digressed, anyhow, then later on near the end of this mission her life points drop to zero while all my ground crew and I were busy in the heated actions. I think she was finally overwhelmed by some serious big cranial 'foes' while my team and I were involved with surrounding actions, and by the time I notice she's not with us is when I noticed her lying on one spot without life bars. Yes, and that's when I click on her and saw that she had over a thousand total life points to begin with, and figured that's how she lasted as long as she did in all the heated firing-actions. I should have clicked on her and note her bios and stats to have watched over her more, and that is where am at to ask this from season players who knows what am talking about.
What could I have done to protect her and keep her life stats a bit longer to keep her accompanying my landing party to the end, I wonder? Oh, and one of my tactical crewman was in same situation and I had to revived his life signs with a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation moves. But I can't do the same CR for that host character to fully revive her to 'move' again like I could my crew, since she's not part of my team; which is to me the only downside to this game, on that respect.

My point is: shouldn't we be given the ability to be able to revive her as we could the colonists who we found some lying around on the ground waiting to be heal? I was able to complete the mission without having that key host character accompanying my landing party like she did more than half way through that ground mission. And I got to talk to her from that last spot later on because she was still vital to completing the mission, but she was immobile from that last known spot her life bars point had dropped to zero from originally having over a thousand life points.

From here on, am going to try to meet the challenge of trying to protect and keep my host character on planet sides alive to the end, if that was programmed by Cryptic to allow that to be possible even, that is. And my tips for anyone of you not yet to this mission that I tried really hard not to give away spoilers on is to always keep track off your planet-side 'host character' as primary target and try to draw the bigger serious ground foes to you from a distant to not let your host fall in the middle of the big enemies with serious fire powers. And if she runs in the midst of them, get close and stay close to her to defend her as much and as long as you could to see if it works for you. Good Luck!;)

Yes, she did for me, too, but she could no longer be active to accompany my landing party. That was sad after that. I failed to keep her 'active' to keep her along with my crew. I wish I could replay that mission, but I can't. Am just curious to know if anyone else was better than me on keeping her alongside with them all the way to the end.

You can heal NPCs. Just select the injured NPC and click on a healing power from one of your BOs.

I think I did, and she stood up, but from there on her life bars is still empty and she could not move from that spot to accompany my PCs anymore. Did she get up and continue going with you and your PCs from there on? If yes, please tell me what did you used in steps?

He meant before she dies, if said officer is down she will be staying down and thats supposed to be part of the fun I would imagine. Just keep an eye on her and make sure to glance in her direction every once in a while even if in combat.

Make sure to heal her in between combat sessions too.
