During my very short time playing this game, so far, I'm enjoying it. Really. I've been playing it for the past two days, and I can't get enough of it. It's flawlessly executed, very stylish, and somewhat holds true to the Star Trek franchise. However, and as it is so with every MMO release, there are a lot of bugs in the game - some trivial, others blatantly obvious. Please keep in mind that I am not, at all, bashing this game, and I do intend to keep at it for as long as I can.
Here are some bugs that I couldn't help but notice, as well as some things that I think should be changed.
1) Account-wide Settings - While it's not entirely game-breaking to me, it gets very annoying to have to change around both my Game Options and Chat Settings to be coherent through the rest of the game - every time I create a new character.
2) Self-Player Names Never Show, Despite selecting Always - This is self-explanatory.
3) Some Gorn NPCs say a line something along the lines of "look_around_kneel" - I just noticed this while doing a mission in Kassae (Or however you spell it).
4) Skipping the Introduction - Champions Online had this. City of Heroes had this. Why doesn't ST:O have this? The other two games that Cryptic released had this feature at launch, as long as you had another character that already went through it. I already know the basic controls, how to maneuver my ship, and how to initiate ground combat. I don't need to go through all that again, and again.
5) Increased Server Caps - As I've read in the Launcher's news, I see that you folks at Cryptic are already working on this. Here's hoping that you pull through - it becomes a nuisance to Roleplayers when only 50 players can fit into one server. I didn't mind this in Champions, but I do mind it here.
Other than those on this list, you all have done a great job in executing this game. Here's hoping that ST:O sticks through.
Although the body of your post emphasises that you intend to keep with the game and that you acknowledge that MMOs have bugs after launch, I'm puzzled as to why then you decided to use such a sensationalistic (and hypocritic) heading for your thread.

I mean just look at the game. All the screens, the interface, the visual quality, all the bugs reported here in the last week...
The game looks like DAOC, like its 10 years old! Put it next to Aion and it looks even worse. MMOs without bugs at release are illusional, but this is almost as bad as age of conan.
This after Closed Betha, Open Betha, and the test the devs should have done ? Ridiculous.
Lack of high end content ist supposed to be fixed with a content patch 45 Days after launch? In the old days they would have at least included that content in the base game.
After all: I consider this OpenBethaWithKeepingYourCharacter right now. Maybe the game will be worth the money in a year or so. But charging 15/Month for this ... no way. WoW is 13/Month and lets face it: Thats just a different quality of software.

I've changed it to better fit the topic.
