it's going to be released soon, and from what I understand it it is a lead in to the game.

    Wooo :)

This is great, the storyline in STO is one of the real treasures, and this just sweatens the deal :p

Yeah, I've posted about the novel before. It was mentioned here on the site that it covers the 30 years of plot between Nemesis and STO. There is no proof of this, but I am assuming the Ghostwriter writing as Jake Sisko, is Kestrel, the lead writer on STO. I could be wrong about this, but since she did the interview segments as Jake Sisko in the path to 2409 updates and since cryptic said they were working with the author, I think that ghostwriter is her.

If you mean her, as in recomendations, yes correct. One of many though

On a side note, the needs of the many outway the needs of the few, making the few stewards for the many. Not collectiong the rewards some status can obtain.

Be carfeul...if the book is anything like the game it will likely be missing a few pages if you know what I mean. :p

Nah.. the pages will be there. Few of them are all blank though and you're kindly asked to come up with fantastic ideas how to fill those blank pages :P

Rofl are you serious? I can't believe they're already trying to milk more money out of this pos game >.<

What is it going to be about? let me guess

Chapter 1 "The Great Spacebar Battle"

Chapter 2 "We forgot how to be diplomatic"

Chapter 3 "Ways to make more money"

Just goes to show you all they care about is money

But you forgot the title.... Needs of the many. Which translates to: You're really not as special as mom said you were.

Stardate 2.10.3092. Captains log. Due to the increase in server stability my crew has decided to secure the salvage operation from Klingon aggressors again. Starfleet has been unwilling to hold this location and this will make the 35th time we have secured it in the past 3 days. After entering the system, we moved to the astronomy lab and were attacked by 8 birds of prey and destroyed. We then went to full impulse power and moved to the starbase.

While engaging a group of klingons at the starbase, my engineering officer reported that our phaser banks were no longer operating at normal efficiency due to a bug introduced in the patch the the day before. Science Officer Varek found this fascinating, and suggested that we pop in an battery to escape, but the batteries were on cooldown and nobody on the ship was able to reroute power to the engines, as our chief engineering officer was only willing to dispatch an engineering team to repair hull damage and would not reroute power to the engines unless he was promoted and I got him a newer engineering station. I will report him for this blackmail attempt once we return to federation space.

Following our destruction, we returned to the Sol system where we discovered that all hailing channels were being bombarded with advertisements from energy traders. The rule of law on earth appears to have broken down.

so does this mean that we players will be used for content?
wheres the EULA? I cant find it, I'm looking for the clause that says we give up all rights and that our in-game actions can be developed for commercial ventures outside of the game.

I have a bad feeling about this...

and it would certainly explain the paranoia over copyrighted names, especially if they try and sell our individual stories/characters out for crappy trade paperbacks
