I mean come on allmost 17 matches in a row today, the feds were 8+ levels below the klinks......are weapons were useless, we were shooting BB guns at there shields, im tier 3 ship and front cannons doing over 700 DPS alone, not including my turrets in back, and quantums, is it just me or does the PVP need to be a 5 level gap at the most? a 10 level gap is kinda much, yea some people might say, "I welcome the challenge, well i do to, i just dont like seeing my whole team focusing one one guys shields, and we cant even bring them down to 50%.What does everyone else think?

I consistently do very well on my klingon character, and am at the low end of the current rank. In my experience, the skill points don't matter nearly so much as the pilot. As fed at least you have the option of levelling through the low end of the rank by PvE, and have ways of getting gear besides PvP.

I think your right, its nasty to go out knowing your gonna get kicked about by a higher lvl team.

Why would they put a 10 lvl range gap? Mabye its to do with pvp que times? they could make it teams of the same lvl but the que time would slip to hours.

something in the middle 5+ would be better but if im honest, I rather play than que, sooner or later the day will be your turn to smash a lower lvl group.

just cuz they have 8 more levels on you means nothing

the reason for the current setup is everyone has the same skills available to them, levels themselves dont give any other real advantage other then the ammount of skill points youve earned

ive personaly stomped MANY high end captains in 1v1 with my low level klingon captain, so obviously its an issue on the fed side moreso

id also like to state most feds dont know how to pve anyway so that 8 level difference probly wouldnt have helped you if you closed it

a 10 level difference isn't unheard of in PvP in MMO's. WoW's various battle grounds are leveled like that. If you're on the low end of the level range for that zone you're gonna get worked more often than not. Why do they do it? Who knows maybe it allows for a bigger pool so less wait time in queues.

before I hit commander last night I was PvP'ing so I was definitely in one of these groups, Skills are still basically the same level so it shouldnt be much difference. I was also somewhat gimped on weapons and BOff skills never got that many mkIV drops and hate buying at the exchange.

I imagine many players like me that really dont PvP that much on the fed side all end up like this. Feds can PvE most of their rank with the storyline missions and patrols but after that they are usually left with 1-2 levels short of next rank. That seems to be the time when they start jumping into PvP more to hit the next level.

Klingons lacking enough story missions basically are forced to PvP to rank.

Also it shouldnt matter much as there were plenty of Klingons giving me trouble and my escort would get swarmed from time to time. Its more about the tactics and numbers your facing off against.

If you were all pounding away at one ship's shields, that ship probabl threw up reverse shield polarity and/or had shields extended from other fed players.

As a fed player that likes to pvp, I noticed I stomp some Klingons many levels higher than me, while having to run away from some lower than me.

d00d if they tiered it anymore than every 10 levels PvP matches would be THAT much harder to get into.
