Exploration cluster cooldown - was this suppose to change from turn in to start?

I was looking at the Feb 11th release notes and it has this change

"Made all repeatable Star Cluster missions have a 30 minute cooldown from start of mission instead of from turn in."

I'm use to waiting 30 minutes for the exploration mission cooldown AFTER turn in so I have a timer/alarm on my desk that I use. Tonight I was running the new "Explore the B'Tran Cluster" Exploration for Tier 5 badges. I was hoping that the cooldown was changed from turn in of 3/3 completion to the above. I timed starting the mission (1/3 and 3/3 missions btw) and also the 3/3 turn in.

What I found was the B'Tran Cluster exploration mission cooldown was based on the completion turn in as it was for the other Admiral level exploration missions.

Does ""Made all repeatable Star Cluster missions have a 30 minute cooldown from start of mission instead of from turn in." pertain to something other than Cluster explorations?

I don't know what you're experiencing, but I'm able to re-up the quest as soon as I turn it in, in a vast majority of cases.

What specific missions are you referring to? Does this include the [RA 5] Exploration "Explore the B'Tran Cluster - Explore Systems (0/3) or something else?

*shrug* did not know they changed it period, so used to waiting 30 min which is just another decent exploration patrol mission or two while i wait, farm that loot and bo pts while i am there anyway. usually by the 2nd mission with the old timer i could be at or near the end of it and call up take the next one and boom 1st patrol competed, or i could loiter around 5 minutes ot so til i could call it in.

Yes, that's the one I'm talking about. I do my three, and 19 times out of 20, after I turn it in, it's there waiting for me again.

Luck of the draw on what random mission plays a big part of how fast you can redo the mission.

if you get the quick scan 5 anomalies ones you can get stuck waiting on the 30 min cooldown.

Make sure you time it right. It will start after you zone in and read through the NPC stuff in the beginnning of the first one.

Started a new round at 12:44 am CST, finished at 1:10 am CST. 4 minutes after completing the last mission the quest should have reset if the patch notes were right, but it is now 6 minutes after and nothing.

Bugged, or working as intended with misleading patch notes.

Ya its not starting to timer for me until after i finish the quest too. On the same note not really liking the day timer on the mark or exploration id rather them have it on a 30 min timer with 1 point each imo.

    Some additional testing.

Was waiting for the mission to be up again and had started a ground mission in the cluster. My timer was reset on the last turn in.

I saw the mission was now available so I picked it up. Upon completing this ground mission my mission status changed to 1/3.

Completed the next two missions (no quick ones, space and ground combat) and turned in. Mission was not available yet. I had to wait between 57and 59 minutes after the last turn in until it came up again (I was afk for those two minutes).

All of this testing has been in the B'Tran Cluster.

This has destroyed the game, imo - its making levelling EXTREMELY slow and boring now. The only real way before this to get any decent XP was do keep repeating these missions until you ding, because there simply isn't enough missions to carry you though so you have forced to repeat this missions, but now since you can only do Sirius/Regulas/Pi Canis...etc...etc....once every 30 minutes, the player is left with nothing to do, there is no exp to be had and everything comes to a crashing halt.

I think you can still do the cluster missions...even without the "finish 3 of them" main missions. Enemy confrontations give decent xp...just skip the others if you want..

You can't, I discovered that earlier today and already proved my point. Sirius, Regulus and all the other cluster missions all have 30 minute timers now, its a real disaster if you have missions to complete and you need XP in order to level.

How many other MMos in history can you mention where the devs put a physical limit on how much XP you can earn?

you mean, i cant go to a cluster and just do some random scanning until i find a "explore unknown system" and enter it ? Or do you mean i got a mission from my contact to do 3 missions in a cluster and then get exploration badges mission? (i'm at work..so cannot try)

He is saying there is a 30 minute cooldown, can't just burn through them now (under 30 minutes each set of 3)

so i am right...i still can do explore/scan/defend sector skirmishes...but i will only get xp for killing things...not for turning in the 3 set mission cause they have 30 min cooldown...well...im fine with this :D

Sure if you want +1 XP per kill if your lucky, that'd take you forever to level up that way....

For many people, this is a bad choice. I don't want to sit around waiting 30 minutes so I can earn XP, maybe others do. But I bet top dollar, most will not and talking in zone chat in this clusters a lot HATE it, and even more think its broken until I explained.

thats not correct..if i do a single random enemy confrontation in a cluster it gets me about one bubble xp for killing 6 enemies and the mission complete bonus..sure its not the same amount as the 3 mission set...but exept for the scan only 5 things in space, all missions give a bonus at the end.
