New Content: Problems & Suggestions

There are some issues with the NEW content that need to be addressed:

1) Borg Admiral Store

Someone at Cryptic must have missed the memo about the limited skillcap or being extremely lazy. Fine, I have to do exploration missions for nice shiny purple equipment except all of the ship weapons are ANTI-PROTONs and Tri - Cobalt.

You know, the rank 5 admiral skills which only comes into play AT Admiral in a limited skill cap where training that weapon system penalises the player HEAVILY for the privelege of using these weapons. Which wont even be at max capability. The same is true for the Tricobalt weapons.

The problem here is that these shops should be offering ALL weapon types for ships because as it is. Those weapon systems are worthless to those that want other weapon types.
The way this game is looking, Cryptic seem to have built this game around the concept that every player was going to progress through weapons like they do through ships.

Phasers / Disrupters > (Commander) Plasma / Tetryon > (Captain) Polaron > (Admiral) Anti Proton

In an uncapped skill system this MIGHT have made sense, right now that is just completely unresonable.
Sol exploration stores do not offer some Federation Equipment.
I.E
Dual Phaser Cannons
Dual Heavy Phaser Cannons
Phaser Split beam Rifle
Phaser Assualt Auto Targeting
Phaser Assualt Auto sweep

I have checked all the vendors and cant find these things and now it appears the Borg area weapons only come in PURPLE Anti Proton flavour. Thus anyone who hasnt trained Anti - Proton or Tri cobalt is literally shot in the foot for taking advantage of these offers.

Solution: Add the rest of the weapons to the Borg store. This game claims to offer variety and customisation RIGHT ?
Where the hell is the variety when the end game offers only ONE specific weapon type ?

As it is, Endgame is going to be people running around with purple Anti-Protons while those that cant skill them because they already reached Admiral or chose a different weapon specialisation are left out from these offers.

2) Admiral store cost

5 badges per day ?
Ground Weapons / Armor / Shield cost: 4 badges

1 day for armor
1 day for shield
1 day for weapon
1 day for second weapon

4 days I can have a character kitted out nicely.
3 days for my Bridge officers at the basic 4 man away team thats 12 days.

Ok, I can live with that to an extent since I'm at least getting an appreciable benefit EACH day.

However, the ship equipment and the kits are alot higher.
Anyone who has done exploration and seen the stores should know that Cryptic have basically taken the same approach with these new items. Most of these items are going to take 11 days PER ITEM which I find unreasonable.

Right, Cryptic want people to grind and pay their subscriptions but seriously, a week just to get a single item for my character or a single Anti-Proton beam ?

Solution: lower the cost of the bigger items, at the very least ROUND the numbers to the nearest five. I dont know why its needed for an item to cost 4 badges than 5 or 23 instead of 20.
2 or 3 days is more than reasonable PER item. ESPECIALLY the kits, I dont know whos bright idea it is to put ground kits at large prices. The exploration shop price being larger I can understand since its is still managable to acquire reasonably. Spending DAYs just to get ONE kit is excessive.

the item prices are fine, they just need more ways to earn badges. 5 per day is a single 3x exploration mission, takes about half an hour, after that you're done and nothing else to do for the day. there should be more missions to get them.

and I agree with the "why is there only antiproton weapons available" thing. since I maxed out phaser weapons and now I have no points to spend in antiproton weapons and without a skill reset option this is just silly.

but it's silly anyway because what happens when they add a new vendor with different weapon type, people just respec so they can use them? really silly way of doing things.. you should have a choice, as it is, everyone is just going to be running around in the exact same equipment after a while, with no variation.

What's the point of making them "epic" items, if you can get them easily? I personally think they're being a little generous with the purple items, myself.

    'Epic' ?

Epic items should be the boss loot or the items that have x3 stats bonused enhancements,

These things have slightly enhanced stats over the exploration variations for considerably more time investment.

Fine, let purples be extremely hard to get, where are the whites, greens and blues ?

As it is, even if you COULD train Anti-Protons and Tricobalt. You wouldnt get the benefit until you had a decent proportion of the weapons to fit on your ship. Thats going to take you weeks at the current prices thus one might as well train a lower weapon system, spend the following months farming anti-protons THEN respecing into that system to use them.

By that stage, there really is no point. Spend months farming for a respec AND the new weapon system or just go with exploration phasers and be done with it ?
At best, the only things I am actually interested in is the ground equipment and the timeframe to get that is reasonable to me.

1 item per day which I can see an appreciable benefit from rather than spend 11 days farming only to finally get the reward that dosent reward me relative to the effort required to get it.

A dev posted that you will be able to earn badges in the repeatable Raidisodes as well. They should be here soon.

As to having only two weapon types ... it seems like they didnt think it through very well just like they didnt think putting a cap on a capless skill tree very well. Hopefully both of these will be rectified in the very near future.
