And before this gets out of hand... I should give context.
We are targetting regularly scheduled downtimes on Thursdays instead of emergency bug or server fixes at the last minute. As stability improves we're getting back on schedule as we were during Beta.
This also will include the opening up of the Test Shard where players will be able to play updates prior to them going live. We will of course push any critical fixes live as soon as we can.
The entire team is hard at work either fixing bugs or working on one of our future updates. We will be rolling out things as fast as we can - on a scheduled basis.
I sincerely hope he meant content patches, and not bug fixes.
Well, they said that "raidisodes" would be coming every two weeks, give or take a few days, so I would imagine that they would primarily be fixes and changes every week with all new content as well every other week. I don't think they'll *only* push out updates on Thursdays, since game-breaking stuff they'll fix as soon as it's tested, but establishing a regular schedule is really helpful to players.
Sounds good to me! I'm expecting it to be basic fixes, maybe some UI adjustments and things like that. I wouldn't be surprised if they gradually flesh out the Klingon storylines though instead of doing that as one large patch
anyone else noticing the extremely long patching times when downloading the updates, i know that some of these updates are large, but i have a nice internet speed, and the last patch took multiple HOURS!!!!

Wasn't the last patch 128 MB? That took you hours? If you're getting patches that look like they're more than 1 GB, generally the best idea is to stop the patch, quit the launcher, and then reopen it.

maybe i'm missing something but this didn't really clarify anything for me.. are bug fix patches coming only every thursday or what? i've reported about 200 bugs myself and only about 5 of them have been fixed so far... this game is so damn buggy I would hope that you guys would be rolling out bugfix patches every few days at the very least.

the last patch was about 300mb and the one before that was well over 1000 mb?

We are triaging and fixing bugs in order to include them as fast as we can get the fix in. You'll notice that even in last night's content patch there were a host of bug fixes as well (and it appears the patch notes missed a few fixes that were in but not mentioned - like the Boff being able to use different pre-order costumes).
The term update refers to a new build containing everything (content and bug fixes alike) that passed QA and is ready to go Live.
The only other time we intend to bring the servers down is to hotfix an urgent issue or address a performance problem.

alright, it's good to know you guys are working on it then, thanks for the updates.
while you are here I just want to point something out about the patch this morning, there was a fix:
The Engineering ability Aceton Field had a bug that caused it to appear as a ground power on Bridge Officers even though it's a space power.
which is great, that fixed one of my BO's!
but this bug also affects the ability Dampening Field I, on my science BOff, I can't overwrite it with another skill or anything just like Aceton Field before the fix. I was hoping that it would have been fixed but it wasn't

Thank you for the further clarification. It is really good news that you guys are getting on a schedule for updates, can't wait to see what you guys put into the game as it progresses.
Thanks for the updates on the updates! Looking forward to seeing Tribble (if you are still calling the test server that) come alive soon, so we can help test the future patches and content.
I am hoping we shall the skirts next week, if they are ready!
Can't think of what else to add, so many decent feedback posts from people on different mission types and I know we shall Klingon PVE improved as time passes by.
Sometimes I wish we could take a peak forward six months forward, just to see the state of the game then.

I did, actually, notice this fix went in. I just happened to be adjusting an officer, and mis-clicked on one of the pre-order costumes, and it stuck! I doublechecked the notes, didn't see it, and was beginning to question whether I had just imagined a "bug" in the first place!

This is awesome, as a Software QA Engineer I would be very interested in testing fixes.

Yeah, I've been having some incredibly slow downloading times too even when I have a pretty fast connection. I don't mean to complain, but is it possible for Cryptic to please add more patching servers or bandwidth? I haven't been able to get on the game for about two days now because I'm still downloading the latest patch... its killing me here.

That's awesome. Ambitious, plus it lets us know when the next round of bug fixes are coming.
I can see the patch notes now, though, if they miss their goal.
February 18, 2010: fixed a typo in a mission.
February 25, 2010: moved Sulu 0.5 meters to his left to make him more easily visible.
March 4, 2010: added three new trade vessels in the Risa sector.

Grr. And my bridge crew remains un-altered for another week so I don't waste my free appearance customization.
