I LOOOVE my new Galaxy-class cruiser!

Ain't she a beaut? :D Flies like a dream, and armed to the teeth with all manner of electric death.

The only problem that I've had so far seems to be graphical in nature. The hell is this sht? You're telling me that the devs can curve the serial number, but not the name? And why is part of the name being shaved off? I noticed this with my last cruiser as well, so its not just the Galaxy that is suffering.

Minor quibbles, but I hope it gets fixed. It seems like it would be an easy thing to do. Time for Borg hunting! :D

I traded mine in on an Intrepid SV. I just can't stand the slow turn-rate of the Galaxy in the game. Didn't like it in CB, don't like it now. Still, yours looks darn nice. :)

Grats on your ship...sorry about that name bug though. Guess I've been lucky in that I've kept my ship names relatively short.

Mine handles like a one legged pig. when you turning circle at full impulse on the broken planetoid is the entier map then there is somthing wrong with its turning.

All cruisers turn slowly. There are skills and equipment you can use to improve turning rate.

All ship types have advantages and disadvantages. That's what classes are all about.

Very pretty ship, though. Can't wait to get mine!

Yeah, I had to tack on a +22% turn radius console, but now it seems to handle about as well as my last ship.

Also, when you come out of full impulse in a turn, it fishtails. So cool. I feel like I wanna sideswipe a cruiser.

I personally could not stand the Galaxy's horrible maneuverability and used a Defiant until I got promoted.

    Congratulations on your new acquisition.

And the Galaxy-class does fly like a dream... as long as she goes in a straight line. Like others have expressed, when she atempts to turn, there's nothing dreamy about it for me... more like nightmarish.

I hope this does not poison your enjoyment of the ship as it poisoned mine.

Turn consoles do little. See below:

Exporation Cruiser ... NO SKILLS: Turn Rate 5
Exploration Cruiser ... Max Skills (+100, as above): Turn Rate 7.5
Exploration Cruiser ... Max Skills with +30% Turn Rate Device (1): Turn Rate 7.826
Exploration Cruiser ... Max Skills with +30% Turn Rate Devices (2): Turn Rate 8.077
Exploration Cruiser ... Max Skills with +30% Turn Rate Devices (3): Turn Rate 8.276
Exploration Cruiser ... Max Skills with +30% Turn Rate Devices (4): Turn Rate 8.438

So with comparison analysis, it is clear that:

Your baseline skills can add up to +2.5 Turn Rate all on their own.
Adding a Turn Rate Device increases your Turn Rate by another 0.326 above skills.
Adding a second Turn Rate Device increases your Turn Rate by another 0.251 beyond the above.
Adding a third Turn Rate Device increases your Turn Rate by another 0.119 above the above.
Adding a fourth Turn Rate Device increases your Turn Rate by another 0.162 above above.

    From http://forums.startrekonline.com/showthread.php?t=108136

If this is true, and evidence suggests it is, it makes me sad :(.

Yeah wth is with that. Never saw the enterprise pull a bootleggers reverse everytime they turned.

Not only the name, but where are all the windows on the top of the saucer?

Congrats on Tier 4. With any luck, I will be getting my Tier 4 Intrepid tomorrow.

The name curve isn't the only graphical error. Somebody posted another thread which showed 2 more. The Neck Doesn't connect properly to the Saucer and the Pylons don't connect properly to the hull. They really should have taken more time with it.

Nice. Don't let the complaints about the turning radius dissuade you from enjoying your ship.

Yeah, the name shouldn't cut off like that (I'm having the same issue with a long name on my Nova), but the name is curved correctly. It's not supposed to follow the curve of the registry number like on the Miranda. Ex: Enterprise-D saucer in Generations and All Good Things

I'm loving my Galaxy. I have to bump the engines down to 3/4 (or sometimes 1/2) to make turns but I was doing that in my Akira sometimes anyway. Now it's just gone from an option to a necessity. But with the improved firepower I'm no longer trying to maneuver to hit weak shields like the Escort. It's a different style of play.

Psh, Cryptic has already thrown most canon out the airlock, why should name curve be any different? :p

I still have my Galaxy just so I can look at it every once in a while, but the only ship I ever used in T4 combat was an Intrepid. They can kick a Galaxy's oversized TRIBBLE$ any day in a fight.
