What is the difference between the normal Tribble and the pre-order bonus?

My understanding is that the preorder bonus tribble/targ is a pet which follows you around. I haven't seen one in-game, but I don't even use my own shuttle-pet in the game either.

No, it doesn't follow you around. It works just like the other tribbles do.

The difference is the Best Buy tribble gives 3 of the rare tribble buffs (Regeneration, Damage Resistance and Damage) simultaneously.

The rare tribbles can only give one buff at a time, even if you carry multiple rare breeds.

Edit: Oh, and it's yellow and blue in color, instead of the typical shades of brown and white.

Uhm . . . One you get from the Cstore on every character you make upon starting the game, and the other is a random loot drop?

Nvm. Blacky seems to know more about it than me.

You can actually breed some rare tribbles that give two buffs (the Mattson and Ricossa varieties), but yes, the Best Buy (Rivera variety) tribble seems to be the only 3-buff possibility found so far.

No, the tribble was listed in some literature, not listed in other lit. My bet: someone made a mistake, so might as well throw them a tribble.

He said the pet tribble and targ and all showed up after he got Lt. Commander...could that have something to do with it?

No, I had mine on the first day that content showed up, and I was a LT. It is just that pre-order open period did not have them.

I think they were listed in some literature. That means they had to deliver.

There were some bugs during the launch and as a result a lot of players got pre-order bonuses they did not pay for. Shhhhh. Don't tell anyone or you might get them taken away.

Why didn't I get any of these extra bonuses? :(

You did, but I found out and complained the the GMs. So they took away your tribble. Then I did a victory dance over it and threw it into a mass converter, and made it into new socks. Which I wear on my hammer.
