Atari Digital Download Key Issues? Read Here!

If you purchased from www.atari.com and it was a digital download version;

http://store.atari.com/dr/v2/ec_MAIN.Entry11?SP=10107&PN=1&xid=41045

You can enter your order number and password into the upper right hand corner of the screen to log in and see the transaction. Once opened click on the printer icon and the next page should show both the preorder key and the game key.

Once you have the proper key you can then go to http://www.startrekonline.com/activate to activate the account! Just follow the instructions and you will be playing the game in no time!

Hey Phoxe, can you bump it up the chain to tell Atari to stop blaming Digital River & just give a solution. All of us who ordered from Atari had this same problem luckily I found a forum poster, on the 2nd & not 10 days later, that knew what was going on.

Reason being it's your guy's name on the splash screen along with atari, not digital river, so it looks like you don't know how to do digital distro.

I do have a key issue too but it is not related to Atari.

I've purchased the game directly from this website.
    I got several confirmation mails
    Account
Purchase (Star Trek Online Digital Deluxe Retail Key )
    Subscription

But I did not get a 25 digit Serial Key in any of these mails.

Sorry to bother you here but when I try to open a ticket .... nothing happens .... the 'create' key simply does not work.

Does anybody know who I need to contact to solve this issue?
    I mean... I payed already.

    Adu,

Even if you buy it from the site it links over to a retail vendor. Can you tell me who sent you the confirming email?

    @digitalriver.com?
    @atari.com?
    @someother.com?

The confirmation mails all came from webmaster@crypticstudios.com

Oh and I bought it from Cryptic since the German version of the startrekonline.com shows Cryptic as the only possible reseller.

The American site also shows German resellers.... weird
But that I did notice well..... later

Can you send me a link to the page where you purchased it from?

    EDIT: Found it... hrmm.

"Once you entered your payment method here, your will be granted the product that you are purchasing on your account. If you are buying a game, a Product Registration Key will be assigned to your account. To view your unused Product Registration Key that you purchased, go to My Account."

It sounds like you need to click on the "My Account" link on the main page and somewhere there you should be able to view your unused Product Registration Key.

    That's interesting.

When I first started the launcher the 'enter the key' page showed up

But when I start the game I get to the carachter creation screen.
    So probably everything is ok?

In the account information it says:
    Activated Features
    * Star Trek Online - Digital Deluxe

Sounds like it automatically applied the keycode to your account when you purchased; you've already setup a subscription too, correct?

    Have Fun!

    Can someone help mi here?

I get this message from time to time and don't understand what is the problem. I played yersterday without a problem, but today I cannot log in, why? Is it a Key issue? If so, how do I know it is? I pre-order from gamestop, got a key and have played without any problem until last weed. After writing to Atary and Gamestop, no one wants to help, I set up an account with Criptic with the credit card number and everyting and it seemed to fix the problem until today. Why, can't I play now? I have been playing with my pre-order key since day one. Do I need a new key? How do I know what's going on? Can someone please help me?

    Thank you.

What does it say in the "Products" section of the page? Specifically under the Subscriptions? It should look something like this:

    -- Products

    Star Trek Online
    Download Game Client

    Activated Features
    Star Trek Online - Preorder
Star Trek Online - Digital Deluxe

    Subscriptions
    ACTIVE

No it does not say that.

    It says:
    Star Trek Online

    * Star Trek Online - Preorder

    Subscriptions

So you have not put in an actual retail key and signed up for the subscription yet. Did you buy a retail or digital copy of the game from gamestop? If you bought the digital copy; Unfortunately I do not order things from Gamestop so I can get no further than this page:

    https://www.gamestop.com/Profiles/OrderTrackingLogin.aspx

I suggest logging in and selecting the Star Trek Online order from the page and viewing the details from there. You most likely will be able to find both the pre-order key and the retail key on that page.

If you bought the retail copy the retail key you need will be in the box, I believe people have mentioned that it is affixed to the manual somewhere.

Once you have the retail key you will need to go to http://www.startrekonline.com/activate and start a subscription plan. The 30 days free time is added to your subscription once made.

I have the same symtoms that the previous person has, my screen is below

    Star Trek Online
    Download Game Client
    Activated Features
    Star Trek Online - Preorder
    Subscriptions

I have finally been able to add a payment method today, but I am unable to select any subscription plan. Nothing shows up when i go to the activate page.

I have been able to play on and off, but i get the error, "you are not allowed to log into this server at this time" quite often

You are missing your retail key it seems, where did you buy the game from? You will need to activate the account and then input your billing information to start the subscription.

Thanks for the help, I actually bought a digital version, and I'm trying to get answers from Gamestop, but they aren't helping much. At least now I know what the problem is. Thanks.

And when you log into that order tracking page does it show you order? I would assume you can open the order page up and see something like:

Retail Star Trek Online: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX - Backordered
Preorder Star Trek Online: XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX - Fullfilled

    Price: $49.99
    Paid: $49.99
    Balance: $0.00

I have put in the key that was given in my order.......here is information from my atari.com order.

I ordered the Digital Delux edition.

    YOUR ORDER AND BILLING INFORMATION
    Order Number: 148952538
    Order Date: 01-FEB-10
Look for DRI*Atari, Inc. as the merchant on your credit card statement
    Order information for:
Product Name ............................................................ Activation Serial Code:
    Extended Download Service $3.95
Star Trek Online Deluxe Edition - Digital Download
Star Trek Online Beta - Digital Download SP******25 digit key******3N

I have submitted this code and it has been accepted into the game. I have tried imputting it again, but it says its already been used.

Looks like it is only showing you the Beta Key and not your Retail Key. Did you go to the link i provided in the original post for this thread and follow the instructions to get your retail key from the printable order sheet?

I had seen your message, but since i had a copy of the original confirmation, i was using that.

So when i did your steps, it came up with a new sheet that had the additional code for retail activation.
I have now put that in, and have an active account.

I guess Atari should be more forthcoming in saying that there was an initial code and then a retail code.

    Thanks for the help.

Is it common that Atari just places your order "In Review" and then doesn't offer any kind of customer support?

Do you have an order number from them yet? If so you can check the status on the page and see where it is at. When did you place the order?

I do. I placed it about an hour 20 ago. I realize this isn't much, but most places would have sent it immediately...ie Steam. And its just "In Review"

They may be updating their database or ordering process; I know www.newegg.com does maintenance at around this time too sometimes.

When will my credit card be charged?
If you have purchased downloadable products your credit card will be charged the day after your purchase has been placed.
