We need to have the ability to disable these pop ups, especially during space combat. Its annoying when I am trying to keep an eye on my shields and the pop up is always in the way!!!!!!!

I love the game though. Very ADDICTING!!!

its just annoying.... i nearly redid a mision just to record it and make the point.... the amount of pop-ups in a 5 minute period was insane between the system, my BOs and npcs....

i dfont need a pop up to warp to another sector
i dont need a pop up to "dock" and then another to "beam down" to a station
i dont need a pop-up telling me every mission deatai. i know my mission is complete and i have the mission window already.
i dont need a pop up everytime i enter the same pvp maps.

    etc etc...

And to add to the annoyence you also get and endless supply of confirmations. YES I FREAKING WANT TO DEPART THE SYSTEM

If one of the choices is NOT NOW then more than likely its a needless popup

Aside from feeling constantly nagged with the obvious and having my play and view interrupted, pop ups are usuallyalso accompanied by zoning... so it makes zoning become even more tedious.

We've been complaining about it since closed beta, and they justified it and said it was a feature.

What's really lovely is when you're getting pounded on by mobs and the pop-ups just keep coming. We can't possibly read anything it has to say because you might die if you try.

Not to mention if you get in a group with a griefer, they can just keep yapping to a quest npc and keep the popups in your face.

It's also very possible to lose loot because of them.

Well I don't want to reduce this arguement to this, but......

This is noob programming for noob gamers. Let us make it easy peasy for everyone to not have to pay attention to their own missions. Let's just update everyone at once and throw pop-ups in the groups face everytime someone interacts with an npc. Let's let the group get pounded by mobs because the distressed ship needs to let you know once again after every wave that they need protection.

No amount of rationalization can justify this Stinky (Zinc), so get your head out of the nether region and get some guys on this! You guys need help and here vet gamers in this thread are pleading. Satiate their concerns or you will lose people for more reasons than just plain lack of content.

Another negative point revolving around these pop-ups is that the beam down to planet pop-ups can potentially exclude you from loot. Ill explain how this can happen just for all you guys that never group and solo everything in an MMO.

First you have to be in a group. Then you have to be in a mission that involves combat above a planet that when resolved pops the beam down dialogue box. When the beam down pop-up comes up you can no longer access loot boxes without canceling the beam down request. Now it may seem that you can simplly cancel the beam down attempt and loot your gear. Well you can, but you must also consider the fact that you may be breaking your own quest and holding your groupmates back. This happens because sometimes when you cancel the beam down you dont get the option to beam down again without leaving the system you are in.

Now the really fun part of this problem is the fact that it affect groups more since once you have left the system, because your beam down option dissappeared after canceling it, more often than not your group has to leave the system as well. They have to leave the system beause the game will put you in the wrong instance when you re-enter it with your group still in it.

So, because of a pop-up a group can potentially break a quest (leaving systems mid quest sometimes breaks them) and at the least be held back a few minutes which is not a big deal, but is a little annoying after a few times. This doesnt even factor in the possibility that your in a pug and they just leave you behind or all break up.

I agree the number of popups in the game is overboard. Can we have a few more options to reduce the number or conditions to generate them? We have a handy dandy “Low Interaction Area” already just put them down there. If you only allow 5 there then the oldest gets dropped or on a 60 second timer.

I don’t care if the merchant is closing. I wasn’t planning on talking to it anyways.

I’d like to opt out of getting the mission step advance pop ups too. The mission log on screen already tells me to defeat X of Y Z squadrons.

If I use the in game auto navigation to travel to Psi Canis I probably don’t want to go to Arucanis Arm.

Just because I like to sell to the requisition person at Starbase 01, I don’t need her tip every time I initiate a conversation with her.

I believe it was the Starbase with Admiral Zelle that doesn’t have a docking popup. It only shows up in the low interaction area. I can live with that for most of the places. Stardock 01 could use that but then you could let us transwarp/zone in closer to the station

Yes, I agree that having these appear in the 'low interaction' area would be a wonderful solution. And since the mechanics are in place it shouldn't be that difficult to implement.

It saddens me to see so little response to this issue. This post should be 3+ pages long by now with everyone speaking their mind over this.

In beta there were at least 10 different posts on this a day.

I play a lot of games and this is the first one in a looooooooong time that I dont just get this TRIBBLE when I click on something.

There is a feature where you can turn the computer to "detailed help" or something but the computer will then tell you FIRE WEAPONS NOW. I mean it tells you every thing to do. A similar feature would be great for popups.

A disable pop ups would be nice. Crypic, however, doesn't seem to care what we the "CUSTOMERS" want, they seem to think we are here to serve them. They sould be concerned with us, but mostly we get STFU from them(with only one exception in my experience since head start).

I actually think most people are playing solo or just too new to gaming to realize what a bad mechanic this is. Otherwise, you'd think there would be a bit more exasperation concerning this.

This... both me and the wife, every night, state to each other that we just want the pop ups to go to the low interaction area... If we were interested in it, we could click on it when we are ready, and no longer be in the middle of a fight and have all focus go to what ever random pop up happens.

but that still requires me to "interact" with it...i know my mission is over and I want to warp... I do not want to have to have some low level BO tell me that. Then ask if I want to warp out and them make me confirm it. I just want to leave. I dont want to "interact" with an NPC to start docking procedures - which just tells me to GET CLOSER and then another to beam down. Approach station.. target station... beam down. When I bean back up i dont need the same popup appearing because I am in range of the station.. I want to warp... but then that requires I talk to yet another NPC and then confirm that....

And if you MUST have all these pop ups in the game ATLEAST create several NPC portraits... The entire UNIVERSE is run by 3 clones.

What I hate is the missions where you guard said distressed base/ship/whatever and you fight the last battleship or other large vessel (even some times when said larger vessel says leave or I beat you down, the smaller that I just killed damages me and I'm stuck going into a fight weaker) and a pop up 3 pages long happens and puts you at full stop next to the exploding warp core and there's almost nothing you can do to avoid it after that killing most of your crew, damaging hull, etc.

    Couldnt agree more.

    Reduce pop up´s plx.

I dont want a popup keeping me from looting stuff or making me accepting to go to sector space (so I have to klick "no" again) even though I just pushed F to pick up the loot.

If only the forum population could respond to the real issues and stop making wasteful threads. All of the "I quit" threads are completely useless.

Still a serious issue and not being addressed by neither the community nor the DEVs, but "yay!" we got mini-skirts!

    /end sarcasm

Hey, I wanted those miniskirts :p

The popups that bother me the most are the ones that come up just after you kill something so the whiny disabled ship can let me know there are still enemies incoming! I know. They're shooting at me. Get off my screen so I can kill them. :p They are followed a close second by the popups that reduce my speed to 0, right next to that Keldon I just smoked. My escort's hull is made of cardboard, don't gimp me by not letting me get away from the odd secondary explosion quickly.
