Hello everyone!
Now as it stands you can now access your bridge as some kind of instance of some sort and that's it. This is cool, but the bridge has no use at all. You can't even sit in your captain's chair or interact with your bridge officers there in any way or the consoles. And the view screen does not reflect what is going on outside of the ship which it should.
Also, maybe this is too much to ask, but I feel you should be able to walk around your ship to things like 10 forward, captain's room, the ready room, engineering, holodeck, etc.. the basic things that we've all gotten used to seeing in a starship. It would be nice to take a trip down to look at the warp core.

I think that possibly these extra "instances" can be added in a turbolift menu system of some sort where you could choose where you want to go in the ship.
Also it doesn't make since to beam in and out of the bridge on your own ship. You should beam into the transporter room.

Thanks!
If I've posted this in the wrong section let me know..

Stand on the chair and face forward, do "/em sitcaptain", great for screenshots
There are alot of requests for more functionality on the bridge, i would love to be able to set course and then enter the mission from the bridge, one day I have hope it will come
Also, would it be too much to ask for pitch and yaw controls on the ship?
Personally, I fanboyed my science officer and I want to hold a dance party!!!
I mean, there is an animation for "sit" - why do I have to stand on a chair to sit down? Why nut make it clickable? Right click on a chair and - presto! - your character sits down.
But, yes, the bridge really should be more interactive. It is such an iconic and important part of Star Trek.
I would love to sit on the captain's chair and just issue orders like in "Bridge Commander" but, I know, the starship flying and fighting is probably not designed that way.
And the emote thing, I'm sorry...it just feels like some twilight zone work around.
I suppose, according to the review I read the other day, if putting 'engauge' on the load screen is 'pure genius', right clicking on the command chair and a captain getting the option to sit in the captain's chair on his own bridge would be 'Einsteinian Pure Genius +++'.
Just so you and others know, you are about a year late in this debate. It was only just prior to closed beta a few months ago that we learned there were even going to be bridges in the game. The design of this game was geared around flying your ship from the outside, a casual-arcade approach. I agree with you and would like to be able to roam to more places inside my ship (just like I wish they would scale down the internal size). They have said they would consider this in the future, but don't hold your breath.
We asked them a year ago for interactive internal ship areas and they refused, because that was deemed to be boring. This game is just not a sim and they did not want to take a simulator approach to the game. So for now just get used to having a bridge as a social zone disconnected from the rest of the world.
So, post detailed and well thought out ideas on what you would like interiors and their functionality to be.
1. Bridge where I can see what is going on outside the view screen at least that is directly in front of my ship. And be able to sit in the captain's chair.
2. Turbolift on the bridge that takes me to the next things on my list.
3. 10 forward / place to sit and look outside of the ship with a bar or whatever just like the show with random crew in there socializing
4. Engineering with warp core and engineering staff working
5. Captain's lounge accessible from the bridge
6. Ready room where bridge officers would be waiting for you when you enter with mission status view screens
7. cargo bay *** here you can store items that you collect to trade. This would be a whole lot better of a "bank"
8. shuttle bay: to access our shuttle/runabout
9. Astrometrics
10 Holodeck - this could be used for training missions and practicing how to play. Or weird things that you can't do in Star Trek. Like maybe solve a sherlock holmes mystery or whatever. I think the holodeck would be a BIG upgrade to the game that would require lots of thought... but it would be awesome to have eventually. However I doubt a escort ship would have all of these things as they are for combat.
I think different classes of ships would have varying capacities for these features as well. For example an escort ship would have no holodeck and a very small 10 forward.
What do you guys think?
