Stop saying "Fed Ball"

Ships need to stick together, or they lose...horridly. We are not going to spread out just so you can have an even bigger advantage then your cloak. How can a klink think that cloaking for 10+ minutes is "strategy" and a team keeping close is somehow not playing correctly?

Seriously, this trend of claiming that fed players are not playing right for keeping closely to each other is just as stupid as other games where players defending an objective are called "campers".

didnt you know all pvpers want easy kills and easy wins. as soon as pvp becomes a challenge they start complaining about everything from overpowered classes to inbalance and to using tactics.

anyone who played armada knows fed strategy, and yeah its not a "fed ball" same as armada/ close formation and same target to take out shields/hull faster since shields recharge so easy... looks like its the same here... its star trek after all

Not being killed by avoiding a larger force is a solid tactic and it makes perfect sense from a realistic view and Star Trek universe view. I'm not sure how that helps game play wise as that should have been of upmost importance. Sitting around in a match waiting for a de-cloaked target for half an hour can get pretty old. It's going to be interestig what the devs decide to do about this.

Probably nothing for a while. They are too busy with other things to balance PvP, which blows seeing how thats all klinks have.

LOL I haven't heard that term until just now. But you know something must be right, when they aren't blaming the game for once. Instead it's ACTUALLY the players they're unhappy with. :D

How should we call it then? Fed blob?

Fedball is a legitimate characterization of your behavior, nothingelse.

yeah I am hoping for a game timer soon. I am REALLY tired of klinks refusing to fight and hiding because they cannot win.

I am also tired of games starting before teams are full, thus destroying the game before it starts.

I don't think kilngons understand that if the score is 14-0 you are not gaining anything by cloaking for an hour. It just hurts your xp and badge rate

by behavior you mean playing the game as it should be?

We can't all be escort noobs flying alone full impulse into 4 BoP's (Which happens with at least one person in 90% of matches)

No....... its simply a stupid word for behavior, like drinking, eating, running etc.

    What goes faster to type/say?

I hate Feds sticking together as group.

    Or.

    I hate Fedballs.

    Ha! Are they really complaining?

They do the same thing! The successful Klingon PvPers stay together in a huddle and focus fire on single ships at a time.

Which is what good Fed PvPers do too.

    I dont get it........ :o

Or are they complaining mainly because they want each of us to venture apart, real nice and slow, so a whole big group of them can uncloak right on top of each of us, and blow us up individually? Because thats what it sounds like too me.

Klingons, your approach to cloaking and sneaking up on individual ships so that you can focus fire and destroy them as a group has earned the responsive tactic of Fed ships sticking together and waiting for the strike. See?

Or did you think it was really going to be that easy?

Ha ha, this is funny. I agree that the Federation should stay close together in pvp, it's a sound strategy for survival, especially against cloaked opponents and would make sense in a real life situation unless the venerable Klingons had some wicked AoE to scatter them. I just don't see the term Fed ball as derogatory.

yeah, when you are a faction that gets,

    exclusive cloaking
the ability to pick the place and time of battle
    exclusive ability to escape

and you still lose you only have yourself and your TRIBBLE strategy to blame.

I have seen fed balls wiped out in under a minute by organized klinks

And I have seen the Fedball being used in a good way.

Actualy Klings being able to cloack is an advantage for BOTH.

And if you dont understand what that means, you shouldnt be talking about balance at all.

klinks being able to cloak is never an advantage for feds. It always is used to stop us from knowing where you are at/when you are coming or relieve you from imminent death.

So basically you hate it when feds don't spread out alone to allow your entire team of 5 to decloak and rapid fire on one ship?

    I see.

Are you doing that on purpose?

If explained it 2 times now and you still didnt get it...

Its a slang word for behavior, regardless of it being a good behavior or bad, its a freaking WORD that is suppossed to describe something dude.

It's always used in pvp zone chat. "We aren't fighting you while you are fed balling" IE we won't fight until you spread out so we can fight you...while we fully support 5 klinks on 1 fed, but we will not fight even odds.

Well, I can see that this is not so much a debate about the use of the term Fed Ball as the title would suggest as much as a matter of using the maneuver. If people are complaining about the Feds using it then they obviously don't know how to work around it and guess what, thats on them. Why would you even care what they think? I can appreciate the tactic, and yes, I know how to work around it as well. Is the term really that derogatory? I'd think turtlehead might be nice reply to any Klingons spewing it at you then.

Lt: Commander, I have picked up a group of cloaked Klingon ships about 20km from here, what is our stragegy Sir?
Cdr: Lets make us easy kills Lieutenant by spliting up. Advise the teams to keep a 20km distance from each other.
    Lt: Are you sure sir?
Cdr: Are you questioning my orders Lieutenant?

or as any military situation goes:

Lt: Commander, I have picked up a group of cloaked Klingon ships about 20km from here, what is our stragegy Sir?
Cdr: Stay in tight formation Lieutenant, we need to prepare for any surprise attacks.
Lt: Sir, the Klingons are dead ahead, shall we fire?
Cdr: Focus fire on one ship at a time.

COME ON! I cant believe people are whinging as the feds are actually working together and staying in formation, can you imagine any armed forces taking the top stratergy.

People will whinge about anything these days....what I dont get is the Klinks have the first strike/surprise attack...do you hear us complaining (yes there will be a minority)

what irks me about "fedball" is that klingon side does the exact same thing. so how is it a fed only tactic?

I hate K-balls decloaking and killing one ship then cloaking again.
