    It would fall under the general category of "unsupported 3rd party tools", so it won't be a high priority fix. If you can provide detailed repro steps it would make it more likely, but no promises.

    i would love to see if someone else can reproduce this. just so i know its not something to do with my computer.

    ways to test for this bug are simple. use any voice recognition software or macro device/software such as a g15 keyboard. set it to send a key such as shift+w or any combo key to STO. you need to make sure there is a key bind on the none combo key. like with W as its set to the engines. something that you will notice the wrong key fire off.

    i found this happens on windows 7 using the voice software from Microsoft and also with my g15 and say2play. so i do not believe it to be with the software. it could be the os but i don't see it happen in other programs. so i am left to believe it is a bug in STO.

    Add a delay between the Shift keystroke and the W keystroke. 50ms should be sufficient.

    i have tried adding delay "some of the programs you cant do that" but it did not help.

    When you make the macro. Make sure that you let go the "W" before the "CTRL" button or else the macro will record.

    press CTRL
    press W
    let go CTRL
    let go W

    that will result in CTRL+W and W being sent.

    it should look like this in the macro window.

    press CTRL
    press W
    let go W
    let go CTRL

    no delays needed....works with my G110 and version 3.03 of the software...3.04 is bugged on vista and 7.

    I only use macro as well...although I haven't found a good use for it since there is nothing that I can't do by hand that is faster or easier with a macro.

    I suffer from Repetitive Stress Injury and I'm trying to get Say2Play to work with STO. I can confirm this bug. It occurs using any software that sends keystrokes to the STO game client.

    Reproduction Steps:
    1. Install any program designed to send keystrokes such as:

      JoyToKey - Freeware program. Can be used with an XBOX 360 Controller (which I know Cryptic used in house) to send custom keystrokes. I use this with my 360 controller and confirmed same bug using it.

      Or

      Say 2 Play - Voice Commands to send keystrokes. Free 7 day trial available (trying to use this currently).

    2. Set up a space command to send Shift-R to enable Full Impulse.
      - You will notice the game client receives this as Shift-R plus R which unintentionally throttles your engines off.

    3. On your ground toolbar, put a Hypo in C6 and any Ability in 6. Set any keystroke program to send Ctrl-6.
      - You will see the game client activates your Hypo but also unintentionally activates your ability slotted for the 6 key.

    Lastly, if you try to send Ctrl-6 in Notepad it receives it correctly as Ctrl-6 only. Not Ctrl-6 plus 6. This is a problem with the STO client.

    I would very much appreciate a fix for this as both of the programs I'm using to help with RSI do not allow pauses.

    Should I submit a ticket on this? I know it would be low priority but it would be nice to at least have the problem acknowledged.

    I hate to be annoying but I would really like a response from a GM or Coderanger on this bug. My RSI is preventing me from playing and a fix for this would really help.

    Thanks!

    Please submit a bug report if you haven't already, the QA team will take it from there. No promises it will get fixed in any certain timeframe though.

    Thanks, Coderanger! I really appreciate you and the QA Team. There are plenty of days that I really want to play but can't due to all the painful button mashing. :(
