What do we think fokes ? Think if I turn all the settings down think I can get it to STO ??
Celeron 3.4 Gig CPU
2048 Ram
XFX Radeon HD 4650 Video Card - 1GB DDR2, AGP DVI
500gb Sata
I have a p4 3.6 single core, ati hd4850 with 3gb ram and windows xp pro.
I can run the game on hi res in space without any problems. On ground I tend to run it on one notch above low, but then put lighting to high and put distance to 100% Since I am playing native res 1920x1200 widescreen lcd, the lack of AA doesn't bother me too much. I can turn it up to 2X AA though and it looks even better and performance is still pretty good.
The only issue I am seeing is load times seem to be affected by where I have the res slider. If it is set to max while playing in space, I must adjust it down prior to zoning, or it could be a long wait. Also UI lag is annoying, but maybe I am just used to zipper more responsive UI of other mmos.
You will be able to run it reasonbly well I would have thought, definately on low at least.
My setup:
3.4 Pentium 4
2GB Ram
Radeon 3850
Some 80gig 5200rpm HD
I have played around endlessly with the settings to get a balance between graphics and fps and think ive got it just right, I run it at 1680x1050 at around 20fps average. Here is a screenshot with my settings. Visually the difference between these settings and the highest isn't in fact a huge amount!

Yea see it doesn't like my cpu but it says
CPU Speed
Minimum: 1.8 GHz
You Have: 3.40 GHz -- FAIL
Not sure a 1.8 duel core can out do my 3.6 can it ? Like I am wondering if the game detects and refuses to install if the min is not met.
In regards to your CPU, its well under the minimum settings, but a handful of players have had some luck at runnining STO on bare minimum graphics.
Seriously, no ****
I have it all low/off exept:
reflections low (instead of off)
bloom on
1366x768
shadows low
and that texture processing one, x2
It looks fine cos it's on a small screen (11.6")
I have 3gig ram aswell.
