In regards to Memory Alpha, I've completed the initial encounter. When you go back an purchase item upgrades from Romaine does that open up the missions/options with the other scientists on the base?

    You have to purchase upgrades from Romaine and eventually that will open up 3 more shops. Those 3 then open up 1 more store each if you buy enough from them.

    There is no feedback for unlocking the secondary shops, just keep checking one of the next three when you buy stuff from Romaine until they open up. They are the ones that will tell you that you need to trade more to Romaine before they will help you.

    On this general topic- can you buy the common quality items the second (and third) tier of people require anywhere? I have not seen them, but... I mean, they're white items. They should probably be buyable somewhere.
