Can Cryptic please have a GM monitor the chat in all the sectors and ban the gold spammers? Yes, I know you can ignore them, but just knowing their there is annoying. Thinking of the people who are writing down their address is annoying. Please have someone monitor is the chat channels!
Not sure about a GM monitoring it directly but I support some kind of action being taken. Best to do something now instead of it being ignored annoying more and more ppl and it getting out of control.
Yes please do something and quickly about all the gold seller spam in the game, The Report Spam button, moat the time you have to hit it 3 or more times for it to kick in, and they're getting where they have 4 or more people from the same company with the same message flooding the chat. I really don't want to pay to sit for my first 5-10 minutes of the game ignoring dozens of people just so I can chat to my friends and fleet. Not to mention when you come to the forums you mailbox is flooded with the gold sellers spamming you there. It's quickly getting to be the worst MMO for having gold sellers.
The only way to stop gold sellers, is to stop buying from them !! If they are here it's because people are willing to buy from them. As players we have more power then then the Devs to stop it. Talk to your friends, your fleet mates, discourage people from buying from them, help them to make money on there own, as it is very easy to make money on STO. Go and pvp for awhile, even if you loose you will get paid well per match.
It truly amazes me that there is enough of a market for these turds that it justifies them spamming chat and email that way.
I mean, these spammers know that they are making the majority of the playerbase seething mad. I remember on COH, they used to apologize for the spam in their spam, in fact.
So these guys know, they are willfully assaulting the majority of the playerbase to reach the idiots that will actually buy from them.
I want to know... who are these players? I've either never met one, or no one has ever admitted it to me.
I honestly wonder if it might just be like 20 or 30 people total. Maybe if it was a small number, they could all sign up for the goldspammer network, and get the latest spam in their Gmail, sparing the rest of us.

Not true... these were in the game during beta trying to sell gold even then, They are here in attempts to get people to buy from them.
I do honestly hope that the ones that buy from them were stupid enough to buy gold for cash during beta and would love to been a fly on the wall when their characters got wiped when game went live. Maybe teach them a lesson, I don't it though.
Personally I think it's time all MMOs not just STO takes the matter a little more seriously and actively monitor the chat and get rid of the sellers, leaving to the players to police them and then in anywhere from an hour to days for them to investigate the complaint then do something about the report is insane. A GM if they saw it could instantly ban them, one message and poof they're gone instead of hours of a group of them flooding the chat, whispers and email with them.
