Federation carriers in game?

SystemSystem Member, NoReporting Posts: 178,019 Arc User
Anyone see those huge federation ships on some of the missions yet? The two i saw were the USS San Jose and USS Zodiac. They didnt send out any fighters but they are huge about 3x - 4x the save of my sov. If they are not carriers i am not sure what they are but they are quite big i have ss of them if you want proof that they exist.

    We must have carriers.

But if you need proof of fighters, we have the peregines.

On the starbase 24 mission the USS Mcoy is being defended by a wing of Peregine fighters, so it stands to reason that we have a carrier somewhere.

Personally i want to fly a peregine =/

Are you sure those were Peregrines? I thought they were Federation Attack Fighters. I don't think they ever showed the Peregrine in the shows. Wish we could fly a Peregrine in game. Love the name as the Peregrine falcon is my favorite animal.

As for those huge ships, people have mentioned before that they looked like carriers. Personally, I think they look a tad ugly and would rather Cryptic went with a new design if they do ever add Fed carriers. They've mentioned in interviews that they plan on keeping Carriers for Klingons. But who knows, maybe one day.

Not seen either of those ships. When I'm doing Klingon PvE runs I encounter Federation "Typhoon class battleships" - could it be those?

No that's another NPC only federation ship. The only time I've ever seen this ship is when you do a mission where a fleet of Federation ships fights a fleet of Romulan ships. This Ship is called the USS San Jose if I'm not mistaken.

Peregrines were in several episodes of the shows.

Memory Alpha only lists one episode and has no pictures.

It seems that confusion happened with a lot of people. But Chakotay's maquis ship was officially named the Ju'day class in an episode of Voyager.

You're correct. There were wings of Federation Attack fighters in the huge fleet battles in DS9. You can see them in this video:

Personally, I like the Typhoon and wouldn't mind it if they added it as a palyable ship. As for this other ship, if you think the Typhoon is ugly, well, let's just say you might have to burn out your eyes after seeing this.

Was looking for a forum post that had the pic earlier, had no luck.

    Found it: http://img194.imageshack.us/img194/4000/sj5w.jpg

The post I found it on was calling it the Jupiter Class Dreadnought. Don't know if that's the real name. If it is real, my guess would be Cryptic named it after Jupiter Broadcasting, who does STOked.

It's the Nacelles I don't like. The rest of it is ok.

It reminds me of an old 747/400-C that I was on travelling from Toronto back to London.

On the outside it looked banged up, old and needed to be retired.

    ARRRRRRRRRRRGH!!!

Somebody rip my eyes out please???

    That thing is hideous!!!

That ship is as ugly as a Bulldog licking P!$$ off a nettle.

The Typhoon class looks much better compared to that.

I've seen uglier designs, but it still isn't the best. I do like the size though. I'd love to see a Federation ship that's around 1300 meters that sticks to the Federation's design philosophy. I want to role play my Star Trek fan fic and need a larger ship to do it with. Oh well, guess I'll have to stick to that really big Star Cruiser.

Isn't there a section for fighters on the exchange. I know I've seen one somewhere.

There is. People try to sell klingon fighters for extortionate amounts considering they can be bought from vendors for 2500

Hi the U.S.S San Jose first seen in mission Preemptive Strike"
About big ships i would love to see this one. according to the site

    http://suricatasblog.wordpress.com/2009/06/07/the-concepts-of-star-trek-online/

"The above ship, called the Excaliber class by Perpetual, was intended to be the games Flagship, the Enterprise-F was going to be this class. (I’ve touched it up from screenshots from teh preview video by PE) I believe it was designed by Ryan Dennings, althoguh I’m not 100% sure, since it has a bit of John Eaves style to it as well." quote from the web page.

i liike the doughnut shape ship too.
