Does safe mode work from the launcher options?

yeah, can play in window mode just fine, but the moment I sit it for fullscreen the game locks up my video card it seems.

Edit: even going full screen after going safe mode and it locks up. stuff still going in the background but full screen it locking the video card up.

No problem running my vista 64 bit laptop but my highend Windows 7 64 machine locks up.

Hmm... Sorry about the delayed reply.

Try and change your desktop resolution to a lower one, open CCC, go to Graphics -> desktop & displays -> right click the icon at the bottom left and go to configure -> set it to full screen. Then set desktop back to normal resolution.

Seems it's a driver issue, changed the desktop resolution down in CCC and back up and had the same freeze problem. Cna change if fine threw windows but not through CCC

Tried some other games and Fallen earth does it to, but not DDO and Bioshock 2. Already posts a long post on the ATI Cat forums, in case anyone else is having the issue here the post I made so you can follow it: http://forums.amd.com/game/messageview.cfm?catid=279&threadid=127525&enterthread=y

I am having the same issue, I put in a support ticket with my Dxdiag and Cryptic told me to update my video drivers, even though the Dxdiag showed I have the most up to date drivers. I had no problems at all during the open beta, but once the 3 day headstart and the live launch began, this problem was there from the get go. I put in 2 more tickets regarding the issue, one was over 2 weeks ago and the other was 5 days ago, and I still have had no response to either of them. I also called their tech support and waited for 2 hours for someone to answer before I hung up. Personally I don't think its an ATI or video driver issue. From what I can tell, Something on the game was changed from the close of open beta to launch, and thats when this problem surfaced.

Sometimes the client can take forever to change to full screen mode. I know from experience back in both closed and open beta, going from windowed to full screen, turns your screen black, and sees to hang for a minute, then eventually goes to full screen.

sadly it never changes, I gave up on the 10 minute mark though and reset the machine

As mine it is a driver issue since I get it just changing the desktop resolution in CCC.

In case anyone else had this issue and was not following the thread I made on the official ATI/AMD forums it seems you can use the vista 9.12 drivers to fix it for now. But just the driver, for some insane reason if you download the Suite and tell it to just install the driver it doesn't work. You'll need the drivers on thier own. I'm starting to think something that is installed with the suite is messing things up

But this seems to be a windows 7 64bit Catalyst driver issue, not sure if this will help people using a different os.
