Freeze on Load Screen after character selection

The problem is pretty much as stated, and therefore can't actually get to game-play. I have tried to let it sit many times, once well over an hour, but no movement in the progress bar after it stops; and it always stops at the same point. I would guess that I loose connection with the server but there is no error message to confirm that. The task manager tells me that it is not responding, so I exit out.

I have run a Direct X Diag and a NetTest check and put the results on my ticket but havn't gotten a response yet. Anyone know a solution for this? I have yet to find one in the forums.

Thanx

I'm able to watch a bit of the intro movie, but after romulan planet blows up it freezes, and it's always in the same place? Did you ever figure out hat the problem as?

GPU is bad. From the launcher, click options, click safemode, click ok. See if you can play then.

Hi, you'll need to download the current driver for this 965 chipset. If you get an error installing it, please see the details below.
    http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=17407&ProdId=2800&lang=eng

Customized computer manufacturer graphics driver is detected
    Description
You may experience one of the following messages:

    * The Intel® Driver Update Utility reports the following message: "A customized computer manufacturer driver is installed on your computer. The Intel Driver Update Utility is not able to update the driver. Installing a generic Intel driver instead of the customized computer manufacturer driver may cause technical issues. Contact your computer manufacturer for the latest driver for your computer."

    * You are unable to install the Intel® graphics driver downloaded from the Intel Web site and encounter one of the following error messages:
o Error: "The driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Please obtain the appropriate driver from the computer’s manufacturer. Setup will exit."
o Error: "This driver could not be installed on this computer. Please contact the computer's manufacturer for further information."

    Work-around
A work-around is available if you choose not to use your computer manufacturer's validated graphics drivers and want to install Intel's generic graphics drivers instead. However, if you encounter problems with using the generic driver, Intel recommends reinstalling and using the validated drivers from your computer manufacturer.

The work-around involves using the Windows* "Have Disk/Known File" method for updating a driver. A disk is not needed. To apply the work-around, follow these steps:

    * If you have Microsoft Windows* XP, click Have Disk Installation steps for Windows XP.

    * If you have Microsoft Windows Vista*, click Have Disk Installation steps for Windows Vista.

Okay, so before I couldn't see the loading screens, and now I can, but the game is still freezing.
