Hey Devs, Gamers and trolls alike.
I'm generally suggesting that Cryptic add a star trek uniform package to the C-store for w/e amount of points they think is fair. Alot of people were wanting different uniform packages (Voyager, Star trek TNG tv series, etc) But were either too far from selected stores that sold them, or did not want to have to pay for the entire game again. Not only would this be a great option for us, the gamers. But it'd also bring in some extras dollars to Cryptic from those of us who are life time subscribers

Though if it were to cost roughly the same as purchasing the entire game over again (Such as collectors edition) it may not work as well, as it'd kind of defeat the purpose.
If this is already under consideration/development, Then ignore it, These forums scroll too fast for my 30FPS Eyes to keep up with

Never really got along with the idea of hogging all my pre-order stuff so I can feel special, better that those workhours gone into making them see the most users possible if only for efficiencies sake.
That being said, Cryptic (and pretty much every studio these days) do create these pre-order bonuses for the purpose of contractual agreements with games distributers.
After all, it improves sales if you have a good pre-order item with your copy, taking them away from the all too numerous competition.
Hopefully Cryptic have been smart enough to put a limited time clause into such a contract this time round, then perhaps we'll see the uniforms become more available after the appropriate amount of time has passed.
Um.. Why didn't you just buy the Collector's Edition online and have it mailed to your house? Many, many people bought the CE and had it shipped to their homes. There was no reason to ship or pick up in store at all.. unless you bought it in the store to begin with.
I agree that the TNG and DS9 Uniforms from the CE and the TOS Uniforms from the DDE should be made available in the C-Store, for about 600 C-Points per uniform, not a pack (or 1800 C=Points for the 3 Uniforms in a pack).
I paid an extra $10 US for my DDE extra's.. and that means out of my Extra's.. I paid for the TOS Uniform and my Joined Trill and my 360 Auto defense console. I figure that my Joined-Trill is worth about $4 seeing as how it will be a single main character (not an entire bridge crew).. I figure that auro defense Console is worth about $1 since it is extremely low damage and a situational device. and that leaves the TOS Uniform is worth about $5 since when Cryptic fixes the way the extra uniforms wotk, I can have it on all my crew members. C-Points are $6.25 US for 500 points.. so I figure $7.50 would be worth the cost since people didn't buy the DDE.
I figure the same for each of the CE Uniforms for DS9 and TNG Uniforms.. afterall, those people paid $30 more for that version of the game.. and that is taking in consideration of the physical items included in the package.
This way.. the people who bought the cheapest version of the game that they could find will spend more that what I did to acquire the items in game than to just have bought the DDE or CE to begin with.
So.. going with the cheap game in the US.. $49.99 .. say $50 + $7.50 for the C-Points to buy the TOS Uniform = $57.50... then if they want the Automated Defense Console, + $1.25 = $58.75.. then if they want the Joined-Trill, + 6.25 = $65.00.. $5 more than what I spent on the DDE package initially.. and I still have the bonuses of the Khan and Bloodwine emotes.
For the TNG and DS9 Uniforms, it would be $15.00 + their $50 for buying the cheap game = $65 which I see as fair since the CE user also got custom case to hold their stuff done up in metal and advanced 3d holography, guest passes for their friends, a Com Badge replica to wear or display and the in game Red Matter Capacitor. The matter capacitor I can see in C-Store as well for $1.25. but the point is to get all the ingame stuff from the CE, and you only bought a regular edition, it would cost ya $66.25 (counting original game purchase, but not counting tax).
This is the only way I see it to be fair for those that bought the Package deals of CE and DDE. Make those that didn't buy the packages pay more over time for the extras than what pachage users paid.
And absolutely no selling of the Pre-Order Exclusive Items.. I want my TOS Connie to remain exclusive to my Gamestop pre-Order.. otherwise it isn't Exclusive. Those items should never see the light of day in the C-Store.
I would prefer them to get their entire custom uniform thing fixed before I would spend one cent there. And even after they have fixed it I would wait until someone else bought this item first and can tell me if it really works...
Btw besides this rather unimportant issue I think the game is really great and has a lot of potential. But IMO it's too early to ask for additional stuff
Cryptic greatly expanded the C-Store for Champions Online within a few weeks after that game's launch.
I'm hoping that means the same will happen here by perhaps the end of the month.
Lets hope they introduce them via a store or even patch them in for us
800 points each works out to $10USD each. Could even agree to 600 points each which is $7.50USD.
Thing is, I doubt they would do this any time soon. Even after 6mo, the Champions Online release costume pieces are not in their C-Store.
I'd like to see 2 piece Bikini uniform set. My Science officer's current uniform is just not that great on her.
i like the idea of the skirts
I also know the ladies (yes, real ones) in my fleet would love to have the TOS skirts, or the mirror universe style two-piece female uniform options.
Yeah getting these things available for purchase in the C-Store is one thing. But having these things available in the game AT ALL is another thing entirely.
Let's have Cryptic hurry up and fulfill their obligations to lifetime/preorder players before (or at least at the same time) as they worry about offering them in the C-Store.
Um.. the Digital Deluxe Edition does come with the TOS Uniforms.
we are just waiting for the full implimentation of the uniforms s promised instead of just the shirts.
The playable races MT's are just wrong, and bad for business. Pull a pay for 3 levels of content expansion MT like you did in CO and the burning hatred will be epic. The choice is yours.
>_> Technically, 'pay for content MTs' are called 'Expansions', and people have been shilling those out since the dawn of computer gaming.
Granted, I'm not saying that them fixing the content gaps in CO by making you pay for it is right (I think it's weak chi, personally), but the technicality there just made me sadfase.
...back onto the original topic, I'd love to see them add more uniform ideas, but I have to echo a few other comments and say I'd really rather them hold off on that until they fix the problems with the pre-order ones first. Those people deserve at least that much before they start getting nickle-and-dimed for more (that, since they fixed all of the prior problems, will hopefully release with less or no problems - that's the other benefit!).
Already looked into that, I'd still be waiting for it had I chose to go about it that way.
Besides as someone else mentioned, Considering I'm only requesting uniforms in C-store. None of the other exclusive items, I can't justify paying for the CE and waiting purely just for the extra uniforms, I really have no interest in the other items with it.
I agree there's much more important stuff to look at first. Simply throwing this up here for Cryptic to consider, you never know what they'll work on next.
me too, I want to see Cardassian and Romulan uniforms implemented as RP gear/costumes that cant be used by BOs, or something to make it fair to canon. More pets like a larger targ, not the bestbuy pup. That dog like thing Kruge had too. And perhaps the JJ Enterprise? More ship parts and skins. I wanna go nuts with my money.
Just quoting to say I like you av pic.
Personally I can't wait for TWoK and TOS uniforms to become available at the store. I couldn't afford it before, but I'm ready with bells on now.
I, too, support uniform choices, even pre-order ones, being available on the C-Store. I wanna buy stuff!
EDIT: For the record I know the pre-order bonus from Amazon was specifically only til a set date which was before headstart as well.
There is a thread already stickied - http://forums.startrekonline.com/showthread.php?t=89087 - where people are listing costumes and pieces desired. Stormshade posted that he wants it stickied for future reference when they populate the C-Store. Lots of good suggestions such as hair styles, some uniform options.
*Dress Uniforms (both TNG series and TNG movie style ones)
*Bajoran militia uniforms (wearable by Bajorans only)
*Doctor's robes (Like Crusher wore on TNG)
*Surgical attire
*Civilian clothing
I also would not mind seeing the TNG series and DS9 series uniforms sold in the C-store as well. The reason that I did not order the collector's edition is that I didn't want anything else in it but the uniforms, and I'm not paying $50 to dress like TNG series, but I'd spend a couple bucks to do so.
I agree with most of what this person has said. My one exception is that I want Cryptic to start living up to its promises of content and stuff for Klingons. I have my Klingon stuck at LT9 waiting till I can get the Tier 2 Cruiser and for the added content that I will have access to when it is released.
I also agree that The Pre-Order Items need to never ever EVER hit the C-Store. As those are truly the only items that are exclusive to any stores then I see no reason why in 6 months to a year Cryptic can't release the Uniforms, Red Matter Generator and any other things in the C-Store. While I would really like to be able to get a Borg Bridge officer I couldn't see any justification for buying a second copy of the game when I already got the most expensive version of it by buying the CE from Gamestop and I also would feel like I was ripped off if everyone was able to get a TOS Connie and others would feel the same way. As for the playable Borg character that should be Pre-order Lifetime exclusive for at least 2 years. After that I really wouldn't have any problem with that coming up for sale in the C-Store for at least $25.
