Some guy posted some taratrinic or something like that shield array in the chat box, had a higher capacity than covariant and nobody I talked to had even known they existed. Seems like those mythic "efficient impulse engines". Where do people get this stuff...

Don't know about the shields, but I've got the efficient engines; AND THEY'RE AMAZING!!!

I've stuck with the efficient engines since I got them, and probably will for the rest of the game ;)

I have some Paratrinic Shields Mk IV (rare) that have a larger capacity but a slower recharge rate. I've been comparing them with Resilient on my Tier 2 Escort and I'm leaning towards the Paratrinic since there's a big buffer before a shield will go down. I'll try to add stats when I get in-game.
I think I got them as a mission reward ( around Lt. Commander 6 level iirc)

    Stats:
Paratrinic Shields Mk IV [rare]: 4536 capacity, 10% bleedthrough, 47 shield regen every 6 sec
Resilient Shields Mk IV [common]: 2652 capacity (5% absorb / 5% bleedthrough), 88 shield regen every 6 sec

    This.

And, the Efficient Engines are *also* a mission reward, for a fairly squee-intensive mission if memory serves.

    Best ending ever.

There are some covariant purples at K7 outside the shipyard, for 52 Marks of Honor that have over 8000 capacity, higher than than anything available at Battlegroup Omega.

You're talking about Paratrinic shields. I have a set with about a 6500 capacity and a low regen rate.

I believe they are mission rewards only, and I have seen NONE on the Exchange. I got mine as an LTC and I use it still as a commander 10, better than anything else I've seen and perfect if you are an Eng.

No they aren't mythic. They are Episodic mission rewards. I'm not sure which mission the Shields you are taking about come from. But the (blue) Effiecient Impulse Engine Mk IV is a mission reward for the 2nd half of the "City on the Edge of Never" mission (level 15).

And the engine is mythical, its legendary. I love the Efficient Impulse Engine. My Rear Admiral 5 character is still using it on her flagship. This thing is almost too good. It's like geting 3 Mk IX Engineering Consoles And the Efficient Implulse Engine is also a Hyper Impulse Engine as well. I compared it to a (blue) Impluse Engine Mk IV. And the impulse speeds where the same for both at all power settings.

And the reason you don't see them on the Exchange is that they are bind on pick up. And thank goodness for that, otherwise I'd have all of my Federation character fighting if out for these items.

    .

I believe the shields in question are the other reward option from the same mission. I used them on my escort until Commander 9 when I found a set of blue cov's that were better. Hard choice when you win, both are pretty awesome.

Yeah, both rewards are for the same mission. They're like 7,400 shielding on a t2 science ship if I remember right, almost took them but went with the engines instead since the engines will last longer through the ranks.

it sucks that you can't get efficient engines any other way even at admiral, I think I took another reward from that quest or maybe I took the engine and sold it due to not realizing it was even better than end game stuff. what does cryptic expect me to do, reroll my character for it? cause +5 to all areas is like 4 extra engineering consoles..
