I had this problem with the Sol system also but found that switching my gfx to 800x600 during the transition worked. After patch today same is happening at Sirius Sector. It loads to mayb 90% then does nothing. Assuming perhaps a capacity issue but, any1 else having an issue today?
was having only an issue going to sol now its happening in the sirius sector. only difference now is that while TRYING to load into sol system it crashed my main partition....or something did but i was only doing the game at the time. so now its taking FOREVER to get into sirius and sol isnt as bad. going to try the 800x600 approach and see if its a problem then.
and OH YEAH, i've even shut down the lan to see if i can get it to cut off trying rather than waiting on a time out or worse nothing at all. GUESS WHAT HAPPENED CRYPTIC.....NOTHING....it just kept trying to load the stupid sector(s) of either sol and/or sirius (sirius was slow but wasnt an issue but now it is).
tried changing resolutions, refresh rates and even 16/32 bit color and NOTHING works. Last night it took like 40 mins and didnt even time out on the server but DID eventually start working. I dont get it as to WHY cryptic hired such lame programmers that not only did this but can't seem to resolve the problem. How did you people GET your programming credentials in a cracker jack box? I may not be a programmer myself but i know that issues that EVERYONE complains about from chunk at spacedock, chuck at the exchange, getting stuck in one spot with your phaser running when beaming down to a planet and having to do it over again OR the inability to pull down your fly without a loading zone.
how about you guys raid freelancer for how to make a free roaming space environment and FIX some of the damn cluster @#%&s.....these aren't BUGS they are BIG problems. But i guess thats what happens when you have people out here "testing" the game and doing it so they can say the tested (they don't even know what to do but type out some text as to what happened & not how or what they would have done to try and correct issues) not to actually be benificial or know HOW to report cause they are "testing".
ok, have tried installing older and newer versions of video drivers. Have tried waiting, have tried cutting off the lan (doesnt even stop scrolling at the bottom), figured it may have been a directx game and hence why it would at least be turbulant for opengl users (gforce likes opengl and ati likes directx) but no avail there either. the game minimizes without an issue and i can use my system easier than normal when in a game. This implies it ISNT customer side. Wheather its a game code problem or server side loading issue its tough to tell from our side. But if your reading this atari / cryptic do like i said in my last post in this section and grab a copy of freelancer and figure out where the problems lie before you start losing customers.
Theres a saying in mechanics that "the more parts you have the more that can go wrong" and with nvidia doing their thing just to sell, ati doing the same thing and you guys designing yours for the same thing without taking into account each others programming it causes conflicts small and large. SO do some homework and get your programmers back in class for some updated training instead of letting them tell YOU that they know everything when they obviously dont.
GUESS WHAT loading my gorn, logging out and then back into my fed solved my issue, logged in without a problem LOL what a joke.
