Branching missions and a few other ideas

Here are just a few ideas I've come up with for improving the mission system.

1 - Branching missions would be a great blessing. I don't need them for every mission, combat missions are understandably A to B to C to etc. But for diplomatic and exploration missions, it would be really nice to get some branching options and maybe even the ability to bomb the mission (or for it to become combat) if we **** off the wrong faction or make a different call. I love STO, but these scan this, talk to so and so missions could be so much cooler if I wasn't lead by the hand through them.

2 - Timed missions could be nice. I know it can be difficult because lag can TRIBBLE things up sometimes, but just a thought.

3 - MAKE THE EXPLORATION MISSIONS MORE INTERESTING!!! I would love to come on a planet that's about to explode and have to help them evacuate or encounter a new species or help mediate a dispute between two warring planets (which leads me to my next idea).

4 - For the relief effort missions (or frankly for that matter any exploration mission) let us leave the system then be able to come back with the stuff for them (mark the system to allow this, so we're not just going back to some other random system) or go between systems to complete such missions (such as stated before with two warring planets).

5 - Bridge officer related missions. Maybe you have a Vulcan officer going through Pon Farr or a Klingon officer suspected of being a traitor to Starfleet and you have to prove his innocence. I don't know if that'd be possible, but it could be fun to flesh out our crew more.

And a non-related to missions idea - upgradable replicators, they're just about pointless right now. It would be nice if we could be able to upgrade them to be able to make provisions, supplies, weapons, etc.

I love STO and I think the devs are doing a great job of fixing it up and continuously improving it. I hope some of what I've said can help. Anybody else have any ideas they want to chip in?

    Love these ideas. Hope that the devs or someone reads this and takes some of these ideas on board. STO missions (especially exploration missions) really need more fleshing out.

    Thanks. I especially hope they implement branched missions. I mean, in Star Trek, the captains had to make tough decisions and live with the consequences. Right now, it feels more like my first officer is giving me orders and not vice versa!
