Tips for avoiding disconnect?

I got into the game just fine, but (I'm assuming because of server load) I got a server not responding when I tried to enter a system for an episode.

That took me back to the character select screen where every time I tried to get back in I ended up with a could not communicate with game server error or something to that effect. Now I'm in queue because I restarted my client to see if that would fix the error.

Does anyone have tips for avoiding server side load issues? I can deal with the occasional d/c if I can get right back in, but it seems like if you get a not responding so bad that it puts you back to character select you're boned until server load drops.

having the same issue. game is 95% stable on its own, but if Im on vent too, it DCs usually STO every 10-20 mins, or often both programs at the same time.

any hints, tech support? This thread's been here since jan with no replies :(

Are you port forwarding TCP on your router? If so STO does not require this.

It's possible your network adapter, router, or modem can't handle the packets created by both STO and Vent.
