Plasma grenades...

... because when fighting Romulans, Picard was always covered in bright turquoise flames!

Seriously, it's ridiculous. Whenever the enemy has Plasma Grenades, you end up having at least half your team on fire all the time; the damage is not the problem, not at all, but this doesn't feel like Star Trek any more. It's like a future-version of a Molotov Cocktail, which is not a bad idea per se, but it is just not part of Star Trek and doesn't look or feel right there...

Gawds yes. I mean, how can I enjoy my Star Trek immersion of killing Romulan Doctors with my dual Tetryon pistols, then stealthing so I can leg sweep a Romulan Royal Guard and have my tactical officer toss a photon grenade in his face. I mean, those plasma grenades just ruin all of that.

Just pop down a medical turret that makes non-stop "open tricorder" noises and shoots you with a blue healing beam causing Majel Rodenberry to tell you that you are in close proximity of an enemy even though you're not, like they do on the show... er...

Lol you guys made me laugh hard. But seriously, I understand that the game is not 100% pure canon, and I don't mind a plasma grenade now and then... but having half your team on fire CONSTANTLY is just plain weird to look at.

I suppose it would be nice to be able to tone down those effects, if you wanted. Wait...that's not in game already, is it? I wouldn't know- I haven't touched graphics settings.
