Red Matter Capacitor

I'm confused by the description of the red matter capacitor.

Does it give a constant +25 to all powerlevels and another +25 for 6 seconds when activated or does it only give a single +25 boost when activated?

The description looks like it does both, but I'd love confirmation from someone who owns one.

I really want the book and the comm badge and if it does do both that would probably put me over the top for buying the CE.

    wow thats just silly, really overpowered in terms of balance for a DEVICE (if its the case that its a passive bonus)

    Only one boost for 6s when activated, and a 10min cooldown shared with other batteries. No, I do not have one, but a fleet member does. Hardy overpowered.

    Pre-order and CE items are supposed to be something of a rarity, but I wouldn't consider it critically over balanced if it is both.

    When you consider the bonuses you get to systems through the skill trees which are around +52 starting at cmd the +25 isn't massive. Plus there are a lot of devices and components that also give +x to systems.

    Thanks! I'm actually supprised that it wasn't the other way though. And It's actually less useful if it locks up your other batteries for 10 min.

    yeah, its pretty silly... for some quest in the game you get an engine that gives you +5 energy to every system... still using it at adm5... havent seen any higher tiered engine with those stats.

    It does not give a constant +25.

    What it means is that it immediately boosts the power levels by +25, then increases the settings by +25 for 6 seconds so that this becomes the new power level "cap" for that duration. That's needed, otherwise it would just boost +25, and then normalise down to your cap settings.
