as the title says.. maybe i simply didnt find another fleet action or something else to do then grind the crystaline. except for pvp i cant seem to find anything usefull to do. anybody has some advice?
ya dont rush to the top next time and you wont have to wait for the game to catch up to you, its pretty common for MMoRPG makers to focus on the early to mid level game for the release and then get to the high level game after release, and dont go screaming how all other MMoRPGs have end game stuff cuase none of them did at release, not even the one everyone loves to say.
I know your allready there and hind sight is 20/20 but I would bet money on it you missed 3/4 of the game by rushing to the top, and that other 3/4 of the game is what you could be doing now instead of whinning about nothing to do.
OP, you shouldn't have rushed to the top most developers design MMO's with the endgame content being added through patches at later dates not in the first week, my advice create a klingon and wait for the stuff to get added.

doing the quests and receiving the XP that makes you level up is not rushing to the top. It's finding out that there is not enough content to support a lower xp reward rate.
He's levelled because the XP has been given for the work he has put in. The only way to change that is for the player to play less game time and that again is an insult and says that there is not enough content to support you playing every day for more than an hour or two.
I highly doubt that the people currently at Admiral did so without using exploits. Unless you're a robot who requires no sleep, plowing through the entire game in under a week is far-fetched...
I think Cryptic should look closely into the people who are already at Admiral and make sure they weren't obtaining skill points at an inhuman rate.
If, however, you have indeed done so by just plain constant play and haven't learned anything about the game, then that's your fault. These games aren't made so you can rush to the end and "beat" it. My suggestion for the next thing for you to do is buy a single-player game or some sort of online FPS so you can just play random maps over and over again.
Be interesting to find out what his /played is. I bet it's a lot more than an hour or two per day...
Of course but if the answer for there being no more content is "it's your fault, you played too much, we did not want you to be logged in so much" then there is a serious flaw.

But this is the way every MMO is - no dev team can possibly create content faster than a hardcore player can consume it. That's not a flaw, that's a fact of business.

Read what the poster above you said.
I've been playing 8 hours a day since headstart and am captain already. I did all episodes avaible, did a lot of exploring, several patrol missions, visited every system there is to visit under my current level. What we have here is people actually exploring everything the game has to offer and sticking with what works best.
The difference is that the guys that are Admirals already have played 12 to 15 hours a day. They didn't skipped content or exploited, they just played much much more than the average joe.
if you can spend more than 8 hours a day (average working day) playing this game then i want your job, and want to know how you make enough money to spend so long infront of it.
If you're single, living with your parents, with some part time weekend job then that explains alot. Some of us on the other hand are working 2 jobs with wives and kids and play maybe 8 hours a week if we're lucky.
So far i've made it to l12 and there are plenty of missions to get and places to be. If you're admiral already try entering and exploring random systems (not the explore mssions) you might be surprised as to what content is there waiting for you to find.
But there was another post that i agree with above, start a new character and do it all again but with a different path. There are a tonne of people who would like to hear of your experiences in end game with what weapon layouts, etc to use. Write some guides on the STO wiki or something.

woot , ya you go gettm boy...yes seems you have found your lifes calling zoot, you have finely found your game to bash...zootcadillac another one of them there game bashing weirdos, nothing to see here;)
well first of all. i took some time off to realy enjoy this game, i had thought we would get alot more then just the content in open beta. i never thought that crystaline entity would be the last fleet action.
and i have to say.. im realy sorry but i didnt exploit anything. once you reach commander+ you cant avoid getting alot more experience. as captain i had dse/missions giving me 400-500skillpoints not counting the kills in the missions. thats like 1/3 of a leve with any acomplished mission.
also i enjoyed pvp alot. bsaicly at all times i was ingame i was also queued for pvp. it feels quite epic.. even tough the maps are very limited.
what i didnt expect was the lack of content in late.. i thought once i hit captain or admiral i would be able to do soo much more then in beta. never expected the game to be over once you are captain/admiral. even if its a new mmo - other mmos i played always had bigger challenges once you hit the endgame

This ^^
Lt grades are 600SP each, Lt. Cmdr are 1100 each, Cmdr grades are 1500 each and captain grades are 1800 each. The difference gets lower and lower, but the SP per episode increases exponentially. It took me one week to get from Lt to average Lt. Cmdr and four days to get to captain.
as the title says.. maybe i simply didnt find another fleet action or something else to do then grind the crystaline. except for pvp i cant seem to find anything usefull to do. anybody has some advice?
well thats what you get for finishing the game so quick...make another toon...take yr time..get a life...enjoy it while you can...
I love people that play 16 hours a day then post idiotic posts like this.
I thought kids had to go to school in this day and age?
you are by far the bigger idiot for coming here and insulting me without provocation. i dont judge you or what you do in real life. taking time off and just enjoying a game for a while is holidays for me. who are you to judge me?

Actually I wonder if these guys have figured out the double exp reward from completeing quests. I know this issue was in CB and they supposedly fixed it. But I was running episodes for quinn the other day and I recieved double exp from it.
I didn't report it right because I was talking on the phone and logging off when I completed the quest so I will be looking out for this more.

Are you, by any chance, refering to the City on the Edge of Never episode? I've found out that you get another mission automatically assigned to you as soon as you penetrate the guardian. Thus, receiving reward for TWO episodes when you return to normal space.

id lovethe chance to do some instancing with blue rewards with my fleet or just 5man missions that are a real challenge. butthe only thing i encountered was the artificial kind of increasing difficulty. nothing realy designed for 5man parties
city on the edge of nowhere gave me the past imperfect quest again after having done it before

Now that you mention it, that was the episode I am sure of it. And yeah I got the exp when I went back to space.

No more than an hour or two a day? I have been playing since the Head Start and my /played is close to 3 days, and I am Lt.Cmdr 2. lol.
And I don't just float there, I fly around and do a lot of things. If I were Admiral I would go around and talk to people, meet them, and generally help them. I have already done a few episodes again because people asked for help. It was actually fun to do some of them again. Here are some ideas to do at max level while waiting for more content:
1) If you already have friends in game, make some more! Be a beacon of helpfulness
2) Repeat some of the episodes that were fun with new friends. Make it more fun for them to experience it for the first time.
3) Collect as many ships as the game will allow and customize them each differently
4) Fine tune your BO's even further then you have
5) Write Biography's for you and your crew
6) Contribute to the community by writing guides on what you have learned - or contribute to the various wiki's. There are a lot of us out here that have questions, and need experienced players to answer them.
7) Just hang out with Fleetmates, or even help out in Zone chat
That is just some of the things I would love to do if I had the time, but alas, after 3 days of /played I appear to be enjoying everything too much.
Grats on Admiral! At this rate I will be with you in... hmmm... 6 months?
i love how the automatic assumption is because they hit admiral in a week they've got no life, live with their parents, have no gf, don't wash, don't sleep etc etc
based on my own experience i've spent a week spending time with my wife, completing the contracts on our new house, drinking with buddies and doing a job and i've still managed captain 5
so is it SO hard to believe that an average joe who has friends, family and a job could hit admiral?
btw the OP raises a good point, and it was mentioned on this forum that some stuff would be added for endgame PRIOR to the 45 day patch.

Don't power level is my advice.
Otherwise, sounds like you need to wait for the 45 day patch.
