slowing down all the time in starbases is starting to get annoying -- why not have the out of breath timer just enable when you're in combet, or get rid of it altogether and disable sprinting in combat?

Because it's sprinting... and sprinting is by definition done over a short distance. Be happy you even have it. This is the first RPG I've played that you had walk, run, and sprint. It's usually just walk/run.

this is a game, not a simulator, and i've played plenty of RPGs where sprint is exactly like this and where sprint is exactly as i described in my first post. running out of breath while sprinting is realistic, yes, but it doesn't exactly add to immersion as much as the pseudo re-entry effect you get when you go to close to a planet. with a sprint cooldown taken away or changed, the game becomes just a bit more convenient when going back and forth between the shipyard and the bank or starbase 39 sierra's bank and one of the memory alpha crafting npcs

Seriously annoying to have to stop out of combat.
