I have played WoW and EvE, and have always had a thing for space games, so i thought i would check out STO.
Please put what you like about STO, and what you dislike, and what you want, and what are your fears for the game.
Likes
- The pvp, it's fun (when you get a good team) easy to pick up
- There is more to it then just faceroll, power levels, abilites from bridge officers
- The fact that it's in the future, because if i see one more dragon or dwarf i swear to god...
- Looks nice
- Overall, even with the server down currently, it seems to be quite stable, and solid.
- There is a huge Star trek geek following, this is good, because if they put their weight behind it, that's a solid subscriber base, meaning long term mmo.
Dislikes
- Instanced pvp, it's better then NO pvp, but i would rather lead/join fleets into battle, although i heard there is a zone where that happens, could be wrong.
- Not enough ships. Moar ships! (stick to fluff though)
What i want
- Mass pvp battles, no 15v15 battleground TRIBBLE, give us something 'like' wintergrasp in WoW, only with the ability to take fed planets (and them take ours) and beam down and continue the attack etc. Think big! And for the pvp to have an effect, like if we win, only we can go through this wormhole and attack the blahblah that drop good loot or something. Or if anyone has a better idea, you know what i am getting at, WoW sorta narrowed my mind. Maybe we can actually 'take' their planets? untill they can take them back? Make it so the closer klingons (for example) get to earth, the tougher the buffers the feds recieve, but make it so it will be worth trying to get it.
- PvE content for klingons, hurryyyyyyyyyyy

- Multiple factions, going to be awesome Feds Vs Clinks Vs Romulans Vs Dominion in one big shootfest. IN ONE SECTOR! Result.
What i fear
- My only real fear is that this game will be nothing but a cash cow, lets face it after WoW, everyone saw $$$$ and many MMO's came out, with little/no backing, and no desire to make it long term. I hope to god this isn't one of them, but Star trek is a huge thing, with a huge fanbase, so lets hope it can stay alive.
Anyone else?
